Lanmeda is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. About 10% of its area is water, primarily accounted for by Lake Lanmeda. Most of the city is hilled, and it is surrounded on one side by grassy hills and on the other by a lake and deciduous forest.
The topography of the city doesn't provide any suitable land for growing crops. Wild olives can be found however along the rocky banks of the river and the steeper shores of the lake.

Lanmeda's climate is characterized by long, hot, dry summers (avg. high 94 degrees F) and cool, rainy winters (avg. low 42 degrees F).
