Dry Lands
Desert
The Drylands are east of the Dakkur Bodden mountains. As far as any knows they extend along the Maltan sea until you run out of provisions. They also run the length of the mountains and as of yet, no signs of life have been found in that region. There are rumors of people who live in the middle. Queen Sabiya will be the first of the three kingdoms to reach them. These people are rich in gold and opals. They bury their dead in the catacombs underground, where they often find Opals as they dig the tombs. They believe the souls of the dead come back as opals. They are dark-skinned with short curly black hair and dark eyes. They wear exotic animal skins, linen, and silk. Their main deities are Mother Water and Father Sun. Interestingly, they also have a temple to the Raven Queen.
Beyond the Dakkur Bodden Mountains in the great sands is the Kijani kingdom along the Maji Mazuri river. Ten-day camel ride inland from the Maltan Sea, the three kingdoms have not been there, although they have a legend about these people. The river creates an oasis starting seven miles from the mountains and extending east about thirty, otherwise, it is mostly sand in every direction. They also do not cross the mountains, for the same reasons as the "Wetlanders". The mountains are impassable. There are two main cities and three small villages. One village, Hekalu, is at the place the river exits the mountains and is a temple to the Mother Water. Fifteen priests and ten priestesses live there. On the outskirts on the west side of the first set of hills against the mountains are the catacombs called the Kella Souri. The village of Shuja’A is on the northern river of Umfula. The last village is Jangwa, a temple to Father Sun, which has twenty priests and thirty priestesses'.
Five miles from the village of Hekalu is the first city, Tigema’A has 20,000 people. It is mostly grasslands with a few trees. Tigema’A stretches from the first tree of an oasis to the first falls along the Maji Mazuri river, at the bottom of the first falls the river enters an 8-mile canyon. This city produces silk, furs from the black-spotted Lesser mountain cat, oberhasli goats, melons, wheat, opals, and timber. The king’s brother B’Amder governs the city. The city is split into 6 sections, each section elects a representative (the title of Den) to speak for them as B’Amder’s council. B’Amder then sends 2 ambassadors(the title of Kin) to the king to represent the city. Priests and priestesses are not allowed to be Den or Kin.
Fifteen miles east of Tigema’A is the Capitol of Nyamphere. Population of 40,000. Nyamphere starts as the river exits the canyon and extends to the second falls. There are approximately 8 miles between the cities. The capital produces linen, camels, mbuzi goats, limestone quarries, gold, and wheat. Za B’Emdo is the king. Zha Ba Onuru is his daughter and next in line. When she is queen her name will be Za Ba Onuru. Za represents the ruler, B’ or Ba denote male and female respectively. Only the royal family may use B’ and Ba. Zha represents who is next in line. Zam is for the ruler’s spouse, male or female.
Za B’Embo is married to Zam Gaone. Their children are Zha Ba Onuru, B’Timnu, B’Dendon, and Ba Emang.
