Chrono Cab

A taxi company based out of Laika, with service in many major cities across Eskal. Their claim to fame is that all rides make use of Chronomancy to have the passengers feel like barely any time has passed at all.

There are two main types of ride: either the driver themself is the Chronomancer, or an assistant rides with them to handle the responsibility. Most drivers prefer the former since they get paid more, but since physical contact with all passengers is generally needed, they need to be either a Chronoborn, mutated enough to have a tail to hold onto, or willing to drive one-handed. Passengers are strictly prohibited from touching the driver anywhere but the tail or hand; breaking the rule will get you kicked out on the spot, and repeat offenses will lead to a ban from the service.

Customers can request a ride with or without an assistant through the phone app, as availability allows. Assistants are expected to be tipped separately, making the ride more expensive, but some people prefer having someone else to talk to (or the idea of grabbing a Chronoborn by the tail makes them uncomfortable).

Some riders have also been known to request a short drive made to feel much longer, as a means to get away from it all and relax for a bit. The company charges a flat fee for this service on top of the ride fare, to prevent abuse and maintain quality of life for the drivers.
