Synthetic Haemo-Nanites
Transfusion Nanites, Temporary Transfusion, Blood Nanites
Nanites designed to temporarily replace the functionality of red blood cells in the transportation of oxygen (or other needed gas) n the bloodstream of organic creatures. Their use is reserved for critical emergency situations, where no proper transfusion or synthetic transfusion is available, or the exact bloodtype is unknown and a universal donor is unavailable.
The nanites do not replace other components of the blood, such as white blood cells, and are only meant to keep up blood pressure and distribute oxygen/other vital gasses. The use is strictly temporary.
None really known, although they could theoretically be used to introduce agents other than oxygen. Seems a little over-complicated.
Its only real use is to replenish blood lost during a medical emergency, where the patient is bleeding out. The use is strictly temporary, and is only meant to prolong life in situations where the patient cannot immediately be given a transfusion, or the blood type is unknown (and in races where universal donor types are either unavailable or nonexistent).
Restores circulation, increases blood pressure by increasing the volume of blood. Its main use is to prevent tissue death (muscle atrophy, brain damage) from lack of oxygen and circulation.
