Pretty much puts it into a pocket dimension, and its like our universe, only that soul will be the only living thing in it (besides plants n shit)

If its broken, the soul can come out, but if its broken and heated up, then the soul is sent to hell

So pretty much The other two find the mirror in the mansion, and as such they take it and use it to extract the ghost's soul from Carmen's body. (it was forming a barrier outside of Carmen's body, and thus vulnerable to the mirror)
So they trap her in there, but this ho is banging on the surface from the other side, and Jackie nearly drops it so
They build a fire in a pit, take the mirror, and smash it in the fire. It melts, and Irene's soul is sent to hell.
