Radio Transcriber

The radio transcriber is a kind of communication device derived from the Shifting Expanse. It works by receiving radio transmissions from an established radio network, and transcribes the data it receives into a dragon-readable format.

In the case of the Sanctuary, radio transcribers are used to establish long-distance communication between the Sanctuary and its scouts. Using radio transcribers, scouts can send messages to other transcribers within the Sanctuary's network.

Standard radio transcribers are made largely out of metal, but some components, like its casing, can be made of other durable materials. 'Portable' transcribers have to be made out of metal.

Standard radio transcribers weigh around 20-25 pounds while portable versions weigh 3-5 pounds.
