You'll Need The Following


  • 1/2 gallon of grape juice

  • 1 gallon of apple cider

  • 2 packs of mulled cider mix

Cooking Instructions


  1. Put the grape juice, cider, and mulling spice mix into a slow cooker.

  2. Set on high at least 4 hours, stirring once an hour or so just to get everything incorporated. If your cider had sediment then this will to, so don't worry about it.

  3. Allow to cool, then put back into the containers for the grape juice and cider and store in the fridge. Drink cold or warm, it's great either way!

Because most cider/juice needs to be put in the fridge once it's been opened it is best to just pour the moon cider back into the containers and store it that way. It's great cold if you have warm falls, or warmed up in the microwave for the cold nights.

Alternatively you can use a mix of cinnamon, allspice, star anise, cardamom, nutmeg, ginger, and orange zest/orange slices in whatever ratios if you have a good recipe for putting together a mulling spice blend. But I really like the Alpine brand mulled cider mix, it's cheaper and just as effective and adds a little hint of sweet that I've always liked.
