2 ounces miso paste
ΒΌ cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons mirin
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 egg yolk

 
Recipe

Peel the taro and cut each tuber in half.
Cook the taro in a saucepan of water with the salt and sugar until al dente.
Drain and set aside.
Preheat the broiler.
Combine all the ingredients for the dengaku paste in a mixing bowl, adding the egg yolk at the end to thicken the mixture.
Spoon some of the mixture onto each piece of taro, broil for 5 minutes or until lightly toasted and serve.
