A rare red flower

This herb is said to only grow within the snowy borders of the Whitewind Forest, though it's impossible to validate that is the case. It does indeed grow there, of course, but if that happens to be the only place in this world to find them is still up for debate.

Same goes for their use. Many alchemists and types who work closely with herbs claim that the petals can be used to cure all kinds of ailments, but those claims are nearly impossible to prove. Given the rarity of the plants and how close they must be to extinction due to over harvesting for this use it's also difficult to justify their continued harvesting and use even if it is just for a placebo effect.

There are always those willing to go in and find some to make money off the alchemists offering a lot of money for the flowers, and the alchemists in turn make their tonics and poultices and sell them at a higher rate to people who often must scrape together for months or years to afford a cure that, at least on a medical basis, simply does not work. A tragedy that the world might lose such a beautiful flower, but there is little to be done about it so long as the belief that it works continues to circulate.
