The Dewfruit Bloom
The plant’s central “fruit” has detached and transformed into a mobile, parasitic entity with a proboscis, capable of limited movement to find and latch onto a host. The remaining plant retains its leaves, which lure creatures close with their enticing, sedative properties.
The Lurebloom
The detached “fruit” is a deep crimson with thorn-like protrusions, while the remaining plant structure has vivid green leaves with enticing, pinkish undertones.
The detached maw measures around 4-6 inches in diameter, with a proboscis that extends a few inches.
When fully extended, the proboscis adds an additional 2-4 inches.
• Leaves: Sweet and enticing, with a berry-citrus aroma that lures creatures close.
• Detached Fruit (Maw): Emits the sharp, cloying scent of overripe, fermenting fruit—unsettling yet oddly alluring to smaller creatures.
The leaves continue to lure creatures with their effects:
• Effect: Consuming the leaves induces relaxation but can lead to dependency. Consuming the leaves repeatedly requires hourly Constitution saves (DC 8, +1 per hour) to stay awake. Failure induces 1d4 hours of sleep.
• Breaking Free: When the user wakes or successfully resists the stay-awake save, they may attempt a Wisdom save (DC 10, +1 per berry) to end the craving.
