Dewfruit Bloom
plant’s central “fruit” begins to split slightly, revealing hints of deep red petals within. It retains an inviting appearance but now has subtle, ominous qualities for those who observe closely.
Baby Hellmaw Flytrap: The First Ripening
The central orb, once fully green, now shows hints of red through thin cracks, creating a dual-tone effect of green and crimson. The surrounding leaves remain soft and vibrant green.
Slightly larger than in Phase 1, around 6-8 inches tall.
Emits a slightly stronger, sweet fragrance with faint undertones of something earthy, making it even more alluring.
Surprisingly pleasant, with a mildly sweet, berry-like taste. It has a refreshing and revitalizing effect, creating a gentle tingling on the tongue.
The Hellberry provides restorative effects:
• Effect: Grants 1d6+2 hit points, +2 to Constitution saves, and advantage on Perception and Investigation checks for 1 hour.
• Sedative Craving: After consuming the Hellberry, the user must make a Constitution save (DC 8, +1 per additional berry that week). On a failure, they develop a craving for the leaves.
Consuming the leaves induces relaxation but can lead to dependency:
• Effect: Consuming the leaves repeatedly requires hourly Constitution saves (DC 8, +1 per hour) to stay awake. Failure induces 1d4 hours of sleep.
• Breaking Free: When the user wakes or successfully resists the stay-awake save, they may attempt a Wisdom save (DC 10, +1 per berry) to end the craving.
Commonly known as “The Dewfruit Bloom” for its beneficial effects, this phase is valued for the Hellberry and calming leaves. However, few realize that Baby Hellmaw Flytrap: The First Ripening is only one stage in a deadly transformation
