Goddess of the Undead

Vetris is widely regarded as the patron to necromancers, for her realm is giving life to that which has died. It is said it is she who first gave mortals the knowledge of how to resurrect their loved ones, and then twisted that gift to make the first undead; zombies rose from bodies with flesh still on them, skeletons dug themselves from the ground and began to walk again. The people tried to erase this knowledge and destroy what they considered abominations, but it was too late.

For some she is a deity to be feared and respected lest she lay the same curse upon ones remains, for others she is worshipped for what she gave to the world. No matter ones opinion of her, however, she tends not to interfere unless someone reaches out to her or is intentionally practicing her art, or of course if they are disrespectful to her or her followers, so she is a pretty easy deity to avoid if one wishes to.
