Typically, Estrus comes about through the changing of seasons. During the warmer months, such as the end of spring and the beginning of summer, creatures affected but Estrus will participate in an event called "Mating Season".
Healthy, non-pregnant genetically female mammals will succumb to the effects.
The frenzy transmits to the genetically male of the species who are attracted to the smell of the pheromones.
Though individuals go through their first estrus at different times, it is usually between the ages of 13 and 16 when the pheromones begin to develop. As typical with most pubescents younglings, they are kept safely at home during this time until they are emotionally and mentally mature enough to take the responsibility.
Adults, will also take precautions to not succumb to their animalistic nature unless they are in the privacy of closed doors, if they can help it.
After the hormones die down, curfews and precautions are lifted.
Rise in body temperature, agitation, sensitivity, and affectionate behavior.
Estrus can last for up to 3 months, ending at the beginning of fall.
The worst of estrus is the eventual fighting inn competitions, feats of strength or overall conflict to pursue and claim a mate.
The Fehlien have a more extreme version of Estrus as the feeling is very uncomfortable for the females, which can include cramps, body aches and migraines.
The Jehkhun is more troublesome for the males as the females are largely indifferent aside from becoming more affectionate. The males however succumb to the pheromones and go through what is called a Musth.
