Arietta Fiore
17
She's a woman, loosely speaking.
Idacca, Warlady, Fireheart
The Champion
That's as close as this site can suggest? She's the main character and the fighter of the group, but she absolutely does not want to be the main character (she does want to fight though)
In the beginning: none save for the smattering of freckles across her cheeks.
Throughout the story, she acquires: a long slash down her left bicep from the cougar; a nasty speckling of small scars around her temple from the berry bushes; a burn mark from Thompson on her lower right thigh and a matching mark on her lower right back. Freckles darken during her time in Navy and Komab'be.
Very stocky and very strong, especially after her Navy training and actualization.
Light brown.
Human
Charcoal grey
None.
In the beginning: long and wavy.
After the navy: short and much curlier.
Black
Five foot one on a good day.
About 140, a little higher when she's stocked for a long Navy mission
Arietta goes through PTSD, total emotional disconnect, frequent emotional meltdowns/overwhelming moments, more PTSD, and anxiety. These don't all happen at the same time, but do overlap.
Stubborn. Cares wholly and utterly prioritizes those she decides are her close friends, and is willing to burn the world to keep them safe. Fiercely and determinedly independent, socially closed off, and has a very dry sense of humor.
Singing (not post-actualization), storytelling (or 'pissing contests' in the Navy as Nico so kindly called them), repairwork, and exploring.
Talking so fast and loudly that it overwhelms whoever she's speaking to; surviving; strategizing; various forms of armed and unarmed combat; gardening.
Arietta was raised with anti-Ksaedian and -Suril prejudices, a factor of her very biased parents and her eagerness to absorb all things military from a young age. She has a general disdain for super-religious types, no matter the religion, and tends to assume a lot based on how someone looks (and is very stereotypical about it.) She learns to let go of these prejudices, but it's sometimes a slow process.
Stubbornness - she sometimes won't listen to or accept an alternate view.
Competitive - wants to WIN at EVERYTHING.
Violent - whether it's with words or with fists or with swords, Arietta enjoys a good round of combat and will actively instigate one.
Distractable - especially in conversation, Arietta will often appear as if she's not paying attention.
The safety of her friends and the completion of her goal.
Frequently keeps a hand on her weapon, especially post-pirates, often without knowing. Checks water levels and availability regularly post-marooning. Doesn't look at whoever's talking to her in favor of watching her environment. Tends to stay very still, the better to explode into action.
Arietta grew up the daughter of a newly-established merchant who is very into securing his position. She doesn't want anything to do with the life he wants her to lead, so she joins the Navy at seventeen. At nineteen, she is kidnapped by pirates and marooned; four months later, a month before she turns twenty, she is marooned and recovered by a passing ship. She is especially well-versed in capitalism and nautical and military affairs, and doesn't really care about learning other stuff.
Arietta has about a basic seventh-grade education, with an emphasis in bookkeeping, home ec, and arts (particularly literature.) She has a natural talent for strategy and survival skills, honed by both her magic and her time in the Navy/Army, and is extremely well-versed in military history and affairs.
Arietta was born at the end of fall in a prosperous fishing town called Finapello.
None. Her mother has a cat that she adores, but the cat is very clearly Vienne's and not Arietta's.
This poor woman. She goes through so much and she changes so much. Her world is changed so many times, so out of her control. She learns to center on herself instead of what she thinks is unshakeable, to be close only to a select few she knows will be with her through the endless, inevitable changes. She goes from a happy stubborn young woman with a will of her own to a reclusive, traumatized, still stubborn woman who is determined to still have a life she deems worth living.

Arietta at the beginning of the story would wonder what on earth happened to end-Arietta.
End-Arietta would be amazed she used to think the world was so simple.

In her heart, she is a sailor.
Kestrels. She enjoys their ferocity despite their size and their freedom.
Shortsword
Her sword, and an earring Tolano's widowed fiancee gave her when she finally caught up to her.
Pasta with a cream sauce and mussels, just how Mom makes it.
Sunset orange.
In order: bachelorette, Navy sailor, war hero, Tolano-finder and borderline vigilante, political prisoner, Army consultant for strategy, stranded-at-sea, knightmage-in-training, military leader, and finally a Bieran ambassador to the Edochon.
Arietta doesn't give two shits about politics so long as innocent people aren't being killed and no one's trying to use her.
Arietta is, like, fairly aware of the Five and does the bare minimum of worship of them, but secretly isn't all that sure about it and is more inclined towards her father's belief that it doesn't matter too much.
