Cad was a Commander and hero of of the Serpent war. He fought to protect Fort Craque from the Shangon army and succeeded. When he requested to keep the land for his immense service he was denied. Instead he took the land for himself. He took over many other forts and blocked off trade routes.

He loses his left forearm at the end of the war.
His men take him to a healer in the woods (the last witch) she gives him a stone hand covered in runes and bonds it to him.
