Naive and easily manipulated with a lack of passion for the throne, he's the perfect target for Lord Reginald Arnol to mold and control in Edgar's stead. Michael's eagerness to trust is his downfall, as Arnol decapitates him in the Woods and frames the Fae once he outlives his usefulness.
