Mysterious, quiet, shy, will have delicate actions around people she doesn't know. Around people she knows better, she will open up a little, but still be softspoken.
She has a bit of a stutter and often narrows her brow and eyes without meaning to when she thinks. She's too apathetic to care what her mannerisms look like to people anymore but she does still care about how she dresses and looks physically.
Being a vampire who doesn't hurt people. She almost killed/made her ex lover into a vampire, and he had to drive a stake through her heart, almost killing her. It was traumatic for her, and she doesn't want to cause humans (or anyone) harm again, even though she will soon be queen of autonymous Branwine and will have to fight again when humans are hostile to them.
She also is naturally curious and interested in learning new things and seeing art, but that has been dulled since the incident, since she is more reclusive. She still enjoys reading and listening to records.
Fearful, secretive, to cover up her more temperamental nature. She numbs herself to the outside world and is very shy because she is afraid of being harmed or causing harm again. While her parents love her, they also think of her now as a "deadbeat," because of her disinterest in leading and in doing anything but consuming art.
Against humans even though she is nonviolent, and against violent vampires. It's not that she hates humans, it's more that she hates violence and conflict, and looking at humans (except her best friend Astra Hunter) reminds her of her past mistakes.

Nessa is the daughter of King Vladimir Fangborne and Queen Carpathia Fangborne, the royal family of the Autonomous Kingdom of Branwine, which is right near Whitby, England. She grew up wealthy and happy, and she was always talkative and lively as a kid and well into adulthood, but around her 70th birthday (she looks permanently in her early 20s), she started to fall in love with a human man, William Rowe. He was in his 30s, and they were together for many years until he was around 50 and he started to suffer from cancer. He did not want to be immortal, but since he was Nessa's true love, she wanted him to be. They argued about this many times, until Nessa attacked him in a fit of rage, trying to bite him, and he drove a stake through her heart as he didn't want to live forever and was terrified, especially because he would be living forever with his cancer and his pain. Nessa didn't die but she went into a coma and took months to revive. When she awoke, William was long gone. She was 90 when this happened. The experience gave her horrible trauma and by her 100th birthday, she hardly spoke or ate anymore, and not only did she lose William on a bad note, but she made nearby humans very distrustful of vampires. However, in the 1950s, after World War 2, the English no longer saw the vampires as a threat, and started to try to take their kingdom of Branwine, just as they tried to take Ireland. Now Nessa must fight, even thought fighting now terrifies her, and she is falling in love again too- with another human (Demitri Rodriguez). She tries to keep her walls up, but he keeps trying even harder to break them down.
Snowbank, her vampiric cat.

Writing about my vampires here because creature pages are premium only ;n;
- The "vampires can't go out in the sun" thing is an exaggeration. They do burn insanely easily, but the sun won't shrivel them up, they'll just be painfully burned in half an hour if they go out unprotected. They can mostly avoid this with powerful sunscreen and a parasol or umbrella on very sunny days. Part of why Nessa likes to go to the theater and the cinema at night is because she won't look as suspiciously vampirelike without the usual parasol
-Stake through the heart is still the only ways to kill them, as you probably guessed from Nessa's backstory. However it isn't surefire, it has to go all the way through their body or it will eventually heal even if it takes a long time (like it did for Nessa) William didn't know this when he tried to kill her because that isn't really the kind of thing you ask your girlfriend.
-Garlic is fine, it's a myth that stems from one vampire who lived in a town not liking garlic very much so everyone assumed it was all vampires
-With crosses, it's like they're allergic to crosses, but like with human allergies, they can build up a tolerance if they are around them from a young age. Many vampires took this to mean that if a vampire is exposed to crosses as a baby and then don't get hurt by them, this is God appreciating that and protecting them, which is why a good portion of vampires are Catholic and raise their kids to be Catholic. (TBH this is at least a little bit of an excuse to use catholic aesthetics, because I think they look really cool and are compatible with vampire aesthetics XD)
Catholic, she and her family practice catholicism and wear crosses to build their immunity
Even though she's princess, she deliberately tries to avoid and not think about politics. However, she thinks her kingdom should be as free as possible, from both England and from in-country oppressive rule, which she's had to think about more likely since tensions are coming to a head. Luckily, her parents agree with a hands off style of ruling, but even they wish that she would be less hands off. (Center libertarian is the closest I could describe her in regular terms)
Princess of Branwine
Lavender
Cherries, strawberries, and other red berries, as they are like "vegetarian blood" because of the juice and color.
The ring William gave her. When she looks at it just right, and tries to meditate, she can feel like nothing is different, and it's just like when they first fell for each other.
She is a pacifist, but when she's forced not to be, she uses daggers.
