Her middle name was originally going to be Hermia (after the main character of A Midsummer Night's Dream) but I changed it to Hermione so I can trigger the fight-or-flight responses of everyone familiar with A Winter's Tale (eventual queen Lucia names her firstborn Hermione after Beatrice, and Hermione goes on to be a beloved queen who gets statues made of her. In A Winter's Tale, Hermione is a queen who fakes her death and poses as a statue.)

Beatrice does not trust easily, and is very self-dependent. She and Oscar Mitchell had to work together to survive for many years, and it's often hard for Beatrice to relax. She's clever and quick-witted like her twin brother, and is a bit ruder. Desperate to prove herself, she doesn't want to feel like a deadweight for Oscar to have to support. When Beatrice makes a friend, she tries very hard to keep them. She likes being alone, but not being lonely.
Weaving, forgery.
To make a better life for herself
Weaving, reading, wants to play an instrument but cannot afford one.
Stubborn, sharp-tongued, easily irritated, generally standoffish.
Against the fae, and against the wealthier people in Alchester
Beatrice grew up in the poor center of Praesi, and worked odd jobs to provide for his family until her parents' deaths when she was 14. She tried to take more high-paying jobs, but badly injured her leg on-site. She now mans a small weaving shop while her brother Oscar Mitchell splits his money from the king's army with her. She eventually moves into the palace after helping put Nathaniel Norwood on the throne, and falls for Marian Norwood.
