Arden was struct by lightning at some point. The lightning left scaring down one of his arms and fractured his soul which he will learn to manifest as an echo when he hits level 3. His soul fracturing has also altered his mental state too, creating multiple different personalites that he hears as disembodied voices

Born to a large family of hunters in the country of Yhimming, Arden lernt from a young age how to live off the land. While he may not have had the same level of natural talent some of the others possessed, he worked hard to keep up and make his parents proud. He always enjoyed the practical lessons that saw them tracking & disabling real animals and would often try to join some of the adults on their hunts.

On Arden's twentieth birthday he set off on a trek to the nearby mountain in search of a giant eagle's egg. This was a rite of passage that all members of his family undertake to signify their becoming an adult. It sees them travel two weeks to the nearby mountain where they spend 3 days climbing up sheer rock walls and face extreme cold to reach the nests at the summit. Then they must take an egg and make their way back down the mountain without being noticed by the giant eagles who are, at that point, understandably aggravated and on high alert. It is only by making it back with the egg intact that one is considered a full fledged adult. The travel to the mountain was little challenge for Arden who easily navigated his way around the natural hazards of the forest. While the climb up the mountain proved to be tougher, Arden was able to push through all the same and retrieve an egg. Moving from the shadow of one rocky outcrop to another, Arden slowly and carefully makes his way back down the mountain to avoid being spotted by any giant eagles. Two days later, and about half way down the mountain, theres a sudden flash followed by a BOOM as a bolt of lightning strikes the side of the cliff just above him. Surprised by the sudden lightning, he instinctively releases his current handholds on the rock face and begins rapidly descending, almost bouncing as he drops from one outcrop to another. BOOM, another bolt of lightning. This time however, instead of hitting the mountainside, the bolt strikes Arden in the shoulder arcing down his left arm and throwing him from the wall.

Days later Arden would wake up to find himself at the base of the mountain with no broken bones, bruises or even scrapes, only a scar running the length of his left arm from the lightning bolt and a small crack running through the egg. On the journey home Arden would begin hearing a voice in his head...and then another, and by the time he got home he'd have four voices in his mind other than his own. While the egg may have been cracked it was still intact and so Arden had earned the right to call himself an adult. Unfortunately, with the strain of the voices, Arden struggled to live up to this new title and would in time have his responsibilities taken from him. One day, feeling pity for Arden after all that had happened Felicity, the eldest of his sisters and the sibling he felt closest to, offered to let him join her on a trip to Zion to sell some of their pelts and furs to the people there after loosing their royal family. Unfortunately not long after arriving, Zion was invaded and both Arden and Felicity were separated and imprisoned by different countries.
