Ever since his youth, Aronne always dreamed of becoming a warrior. He spent his childhood days playing war with his friends from his village, enacting mock battles both from history and of their own making. However, the wars that the children so innocently mocked suddenly became far more real when the Great Plague began and endless hordes of Aberrants and Sentinels threatened to destroy their home.
His parents were killed by one such horde when Aronne was thirteen, leaving him to be raised by his grandparents. Thus he, along with all other able-bodied teenagers, were called to join the village guard and were thus trained to fight with what meager weaponry they had. Though he became one step closer to achieving his dream, Aronne now fully understood the gravity behind his situation, and dedicated all of his being to defending his home.
Despite the village's best efforts, the continuous onslaughts wore them down over the years. The able-bodied adults who led the vanguard were picked off one by one, thus leaving the older teenagers in charge. Before long Aronne found himself in charge of the gradually dwindling resistance, rallying his childhood friends again and again to fight.
One month before Aronne's 17th birthday, all fighting came to an end when a particularly strong wave of Aberrants attacked the village. All defenders were overwhelmed without a second to spare, and the entire village was soon nothing more than smoldering ruins littered with corpses. Recognizing the danger everyone was in, Aronne recalled the remaining fighters and rushed to evacuate the village. Everyone that survived, including Aronne's grandparents, was directed to the nearby forest – everyone save for Aronne himself, who intended on staying behind to distract the enemy long enough for the others to escape.
Thankfully a squadron of Dawnwing Organization Liberators arrived just in time and aided Aronne in destroying the remaining Aberrants. Impressed by his prowess, the captain of the squadron offered to recruit Aronne into the organization. With his friends’ reassurance that the villagers would be in safe hands – and encouragement from everyone to follow his lifelong dream – Aronne accepted the offer and bid his village farewell, accompanying the squadron back to Skyhaven where he was officially inducted into the Dawnwing Organization as a cadet. Aronne later graduated into the 10th Liberation – an accomplishment that thrilled him as he finally realized his lifelong dream of becoming a warrior.
However, it wasn't long until Aronne found himself dissatisfied with the way the Dawnwing Organization leadership ran things. Never one afraid to voice his mind, he was often the first one to speak out, often instigating quarrels with not only his superior officers but his fellow soldiers as well. Aronne soon gained a reputation for his combative attitude, perceived arrogance, and stubbornness, which earned him the derogatory nickname of "Monkey Boy" from the organization's leadership.
All of this came to a head when Aronne, growing increasingly frustrated with how his concerns were being continuously brushed aside, challenged his commanding officer to a duel. Though surprised and incensed at the challenge Aronne's commanding officer obliged – and thus they faced off in a large arena with the entirety of the 10th Liberation in attendance. Aronne fought valiantly with his hound Vaios, determined to prove his worth and might. Unfortunately he was still yet green, and thus no match for his commanding officer's sheer experience and combat prowess. The duel thus ended in a humiliating loss for Aronne – and to pour even more salt on the wound, he was publicly demoted to outcast in front of the entire Liberation.
To this day Aronne still has not forgiven his commanding officer for the events of that day, and thus his attitude has soured considerably. Yet Aronne continues to fight, praying that each day would bring him closer to the dreams he once sought.
