Willa was the daughter of King Leith, a human, and Queen Calista, a Fae. She was born in Autumn during a wind storm. When she was born she showed great promise to have the ability to use magic because her eyes kept turning gold.
When Willa a child her mother and father had another little girl, her sister. The two were inseparable as they grew up. Willa taught her some of the magic she had learned over the years and the two bonded over other things. But when Willa was 15 their parents disappeared, they had been out riding their horses when a storm broke and they were never seen again. After that Willa's uncle took over to rule until she was older. The man proved to be a terrible ruler and was removed from the throne after he almost starved the Kingdom. Willa, having studied agriculture, knew how to fix the problem. The people were overjoyed and wanted to have Willa as their Queen immediately. Willa became Queen of the Kidora Isles on her 16th birthday.
When Willa was 19 she met their new warlord, Damen ap Aeschylus. She made him the warlord of her and her sister's armies because he had defeated countless enemies and had managed to beat them both in combat. Willa fell in love with his courage and his liveliness, he was a free spirit who knew exactly who he was and didn't let anything stop him. The two began a secret relationship, it was kept quiet because Willa's sister also loved Damen. Willa loved her sister too much to ever hurt her so she made a secret vow to never marry him and to watch over the two of them. One night Willa had a vision, a vision of her falling off the tower of their castle. She knew it was her death so she prepared. She was not afraid of death but what it could mean for Damen, her sister, and her kingdom. Willa did indeed die two days later during an attack on the castle. She chased down her sister who had been running after a man going up the tower. Willa jumped in front of her sister and was stabbed through the heart, reeling backward Willa killed the man with a dagger but was unable to regain her balance after that grave wound and fell from the tower. After the battle, Willa died in the armies of her sister and her lover, her troops mourned her loss for weeks and her people mourned longer. Thousands crowded the castle square to say goodbye to their Queen.
Very few remember Queen Willa of Kidora, the Red Witch, the original Lady of the Lake. Her grave hill was found late last year, buried on the island all her ancestors were buried on. Nobody but a select few knew to whom this grave belonged to. She was buried in her favorite red gown, a golden crown, and rings, her sword was laid with her as well. In her grave archeologist found hundreds of shields, they do not know that the shields were from all of her warriors that survived the battle that claimed her life. She was also buried with a beautiful tapestry that depicted her life but not her name, a few objects such as vases filled with jewels and one oak tree which was still growing in her tomb. Archeologist can tell by this tapestry, her life's story, that she was a Priestess, a warrior, and a Queen with one sister. Because they do not know her name they call her The Red Queen. Something that people found odd as that she was perfectly preserved like she wasn't dead but sleeping. Never rotting all these years. Many believed she was a fake but carbon dating makes hr body 4,420 years old.
