Angie is an ER Nurse, so she has her ASN and then 16+hours of ATLS every four years. She has been an ER Nurse since she was 24.

Angie grew up in a strict Catholic home, with eight siblings. She conceived her first child, Christian, out of wedlock at age 16. She was then shunned by her entire family and forced to move out and make a living on her own. She was brought in by her boyfriend's family, but upon Christian's birth, she was told she could no longer live there because her boyfriend was no longer willing to support her. She found a small studio apartment. She got her GED and a few years later when Christian was old enough to go to school, she got her ASN and became a nurse. She met Akira Souma (Steele) when Akira was 14, due to a "trip" down the stairs. She formally adopted Akira when Akira turned 18, to keep her parents from affecting her future.
