-Her posture is immaculate, even when she is lying down. When she walks, she clasps her hands behind her back and has a gentle sway to her gait.
-She isn't very fidgety at all, never really moving her body when she doesn't mean to.
-She hums subconsciously, often to tunes that don't really exist outside of her own imagination and will sing little ditties to herself when she is trying to remember things like lists or instructions.
INFP-A; Amalie is incredibly sweet and insightful, full of good advice and positive charm. Though she lets off a naive air, she is in truth very knowledgeable and able to see through dishonesty very easily. She is very passionate and determined as well. The energy with which she pursues her goals can often surprise those around her; she can seem like a bit of a pushover upon first meeting her, but her true colors shine through quickly.
She is extremely altruistic as well, motivated to do good and see positive change in those around her. Although she is a little shy, when the greater good is at steak she is able to put that aside and get her voice out there. She is extremely compassionate and accepting of others as well, with a very open mind to change. Her vivid imagination contributes to this well, and others often love to see the results of her creativity and determination (this often results in incredibly unique and well executed competition programs that are simply captivating and impossible to not love).
She, more than anything else, wants other to know how much effort she puts into what she loves, and leaves nothing half-assed or unfinished. This often results in a high ranking in competition and a loyal, loving group of friends and fans. Others are drawn to her, and will defend her relentlessly against naysayers (basically she is Baby, protect at all costs).
-She loves to cook for her family and friends.
-Stemming from this, she is very interested in nutrition and health science and plans to become a nutritionist a after she retires from competition.
-She also loves to read classic texts, especially poetry from the romantic era.
-Pressing flowers and gardening is another hobby of Amalie’s, but she is limited to potted plants due to the fact that her family lives in an apartment complex.
She is a world-class figure skater and is admittedly a very talented chef (she prepares all of her meals, almost refuses to eat out). She has a lucky streak as well, which not only benefits her career, but makes her great at games-of-chance and strategy-based games like chess. She has a very keen eye for style, making her room, her outfits, and basically everything she has creative control over polished, cute, and generally appealing to most.
-Amalie holds a generalized grudge against skaters from her former rink for making the training atmosphere so tense for her.
-She sees people from high-income households to be entitled, since those she knows have pretty much been given everything they need to thrive without consideration for hard work or earning their success (there's a reason skating is considered a "rich person's sport").
She tries not to hold these prejudices against anyone, but can't help it when they impact her view of others.
She is often in her own head and can miss things going on around her, leading others to see her as slightly aloof. Her endless determination, while often a positive, can lead her to harsh motivational burn-outs, especially if the cause or goal she is reaching for becomes unattainable for some reason.
As an extension of this, Amalie is incredibly sensitive and takes criticism very personally. While she realistically knows that not everyone will love her skating and that prejudice exists, she can’t help but take harsh words to heart. This, coupled with a private nature, can lead her to bottle up her feelings and block out those who want to help her.
Amalie is most motivated by self-improvement and by promises she makes with herself to do better. She also wants others to be proud of her, and seeks to do well so that she doesn’t let down her friends, family, and fans.
Amalie was born in Montréal to a middle class family. Her father, Émilion, is a retired hockey player (now a coach) and her mother, Laurine, works as a psychiatrist and marriage counselor. She has an older brother, Matthieu, who goes to art school, and an even older sister, Lise, who teaches primary school math.
Her dad put her in hockey lessons at four years old, but she decided that she liked the less violent, more artistic nature of figure skating better and switched sports when she was eight. Because she was already familiar with the ice, she advanced quickly in the sport, landing single axels not two years later, and double-jumps a year after that. By twelve she was on a trajectory to become a successful skater and moved to France to train at Christine Rose’s skating school. The switch led her to almost instant success, and two years later she became the junior world champion at 14 years old. However, her coach’s daughter Vivienne Rose quickly caught up with her in talent and began to beat her at competition. This ended in Amalie placing second to Vivienne at every competition they had together when she was 18, ending an impressive winning streak and significantly lowering her self-confidence.
She decided with much reluctance to move to the United States and change coaches in hopes of getting a spot at the Olympics in the next year.
February 14th, 1999
She is a high school senior, completing her education in the United States. She plans on going to college in the next year, if not the year after, and majoring in health science.
Beau, the German shepard
She only fluently speaks French, although her English is decent enough that she can communicate on a basic level with her new coaches. Sebastien Bisset frequently acts as a translator for her and helps her learn English.
Her skating style most closely resembles Mariah Bell. Notable examples:

Amalie is a classy dresser off ice. When she isn’t training she likes to wear nicer clothing (nice pants with a cute top, sundresses when the weather permits, trendy jackets, etc.) and accessorizes with cute if not simple jewelry. Most of her wardrobe is pastels or light, airy colors, and floral patterns are not uncommon for her. She has a rose gold ring encrusted with a tiny ruby that she wears every day (it was a congratulatory gift from her parents after her victory at Worlds). She wears flats mostly, not really liking to walk in heels.
She wears athletic short sleeves and her team jackets, coupled with either black leggings or a training-skirt. She has some wrap-tops that she will wear on occasion, but not often.
Her programs for this season are to Tchaikovsky's "Waltz of the Flowers" and "Víðbláinn" by Peter Gundry (give it a listen, he's a super cool artist!).
Her "Waltz" dress is creme colored with blue, green, and white fabric draped about it, across her shoulder and into the skirt. It has minimal rhinestones, just for accent in the skirt and bodice.
Her "Víðbláinn" dress has a deep 'V' neckline and an angel-shape bodice. It is pale grey-blue on its base, but the bottom of the skirt has an airbrushed creme-blue ombre, as do the gloves that accompany it. The top of the bodice has black web-like tendrils spiraling down the chest and onto the skirt, with a couple looping around the shoulders to imitate sleeve-straps.
Her family is Catholic, but she leans more towards Agnostic Theism (she doesn't exactly prescribe to a religion, but she does believe in a higher being).
Asexual, but willing to be in a non-sexual romantic relationship.
Amalie is a chaotic good; she always wants to do the right thing, whether or not that is particularly law-abiding or not (most of the time it is). Politically, she is probably more left-leaning than central.
Competitive figure skater and full-time high school student.
Lavender; it’s also her mother’s favorite color, and she has many nostalgic connections to it.
Bouilli de Légumes (boiled vegetables), kind of a veggie and beef stew. It was one of the first recipes she mastered, and it’s what she made the first time she cooked for her whole family. Because of its sentimentality she makes it as a comfort food now.
She isn’t very materialistic, but if she had to save one item from a fire it would probably be her journal.
Skates have blades, I guess (but she would never use them as such!).
Big dogs; her family has a German Shepard named Beau.
