Spiting his family, hiding his pain,
He's an asshole, he doesn't know when to shut up, he's very judgmental, generally foul mouthed, unsympathetic and not ready to admit he's the one who's wrong.
He is a very vile and toxic individual, mostly due to his upbringing, almost everything he does is to spite someone thinking it places him above them. Again mostly due to his upbringing. With that said he does also possess characteristics of a genuine person. With his personality he could've been a pompous knight, soldier or bandit, but he chose to hunt monsters. He can't ever allow himself to be vulnerable or mistreated, if he is that's when he lashes out.
When there are people who don't judge him or just talk to him he opens up in his own way. He chooses to speak through actions, if you notice those more you'll see that he's almost saint-like.
Ron is the youngest son of a King. Except his mother was a tavern whore while his siblings still looked up to their mother. He was a stain on the family tree. Ron's father cared enough to not let the boy starve or go without a comfortable life. But that's where moral obligation ended.
The Alden's had a tradition of nicknames, Ron's father was the Golden Griffin, Ron for the first 12 years of his life was the Black Sheep. Until he had enough of his older sister Susan. Everyone in Ron's family was Blonde, meaning his jet black hair stuck out. His sister would constantly shave his head to hide the shame.
One night Ron took the razor she used and slashed her face several times horribly scarring it. The house servants said "You'll never hide the Wolf in Sheep's clothing by shearing it.
Ron's bedroom was moved to the dungeons, he had the same basic amenities except his room was smaller, colder and the door was replaced with bars to remind him what happens to wild animals. His step mother however didn't see this as punishment enough and turned to the dark arts.
She created a bracelet/glove shaped like a werewolf paw that turns the wearer into a werewolf, they can't tear it off at all or it stings them, it also sends them into uncontrollable rages. Ron was then forced to live locked off in the old ruins of the garden. A garden similar to a small park but locked off from the palace and city.
5 years later Ron is beginning to break out from the garden and hunt desperately for food.
Godfried the Huntsman is tasked with killing the boy, but when he discovers the Black Wolf in the garden, he finds a werewolf malnourished and whimpering in a corner. Until the bracelet and his eyes flash green, he becomes aggressive and attacks Godfried feverishly.
Godfried barely survives but manages to cut off the hand wearing the bracelet. Ron transforms back to normal strangely with both hands. Godfried gives him his cloak and takes him to the Lantern Order to care for him.
He had a high born education, he can read write, hell he's even well versed in poetry.
Ron is a member of the Lantern Order. An order of monster hunters.
He is 10 when he is turned into the Black Wolf.
5 years later he is saved by Godfried the Huntsman.
The main story then takes place 12 years later.
There are normally 3 categories of Werewolves
1. Pureborn: A werewolf with two werewolf parents. They live in unison with their inner wolves trading places seamlessly. They can change whenever they please into their werewolf form and retain control.
2. Feralborn: A Human bitten by a Werewolf and infected. The Human has a wolf forced in them, it lashes out and destroys the human taking control. Ferals are permanently stuck in a disgusting stunted werewolf form. They are the weakest werewolf form but also the most savage.
3. Curseborn: A human turned into a werewolf using magic, cannot infect others and transformation can be reversed. The Human has a wolf placed over them like a cloak it can be removed. Curseborns have the same weaknesses as most werewolves, but what can kill them or lift the curse changes on the situation as does the level of control or amount of transformations they have.
