Loses her left arm from the elbow down during the war
Amira is bubbly and energetic, yet has a sharp mind and is a gifted strategist. She raises the spirits of everyone around her with her personality and optimism. Very skeptical of Duchess Julianna Marlott, but fears the consequences of speaking out, especially after her childhood friend Emily Rose Revis was executed for doing so.
Good strategist, brings up the morale of everyone around her, sees the good in almost everything.

Spending time with Sara Aries, playing the violin.
Blindly loyal, doesn't always know when to be serious or quiet, sometimes doesn't pay attention to what's happening around her. Aware of the government's corruption, but fears the consequences of speaking out.
Tends to look down on people who aren't from Twyllo
The older sister of Margot Linell, Amira's parents fell ill and died when she was young. She raised Margot as best she could while also enrolling in Twyllan military academy, where she showed a natural gift for strategy and was eventually invited into Duchess Marlott's inner circle. She met her close friends there (Emily Rose Revis, Ilona Tobit, and Sara Aries), although two of the three of them left. Ilona deserted the army for a freer life in Creston, and Emily Rose was executed for treason. Sara, however, would prove a close friend to Amira, with the two of them eventually falling in love. As her importance to the military grew, Amira began to spend less time with Margot, and the two of them--despite being close as children--rarely spoke in adulthood, due in no small part to the increasing amount of out-of-country missions that Amira was sent on.
During the Twyllan Revolution, Amira was betrayed and shot by Helena Nicolet in an attempt to punish Margot for her provocative political writings. Helena failed to kill Amira, and opted to leave her for dead instead of firing more shots and giving her a more suspicious death. She failed, however, and Amira survived, although not without losing part of her arm. She and an also-deserted Sara end up fleeing to Creston, where they work with the rebels and aid in toppling the corrupt regime.
