Parents met in America, got married, had two kids, later split up. Kayden lived with his American father until he died from cancer. He then moved in with his older brother and his girlfriend. They eventually asked Kayden to move out. Kayden moved in with his mother in Japan. He didn't feel financially stable enough to move out as he grew older. He enjoyed spending his nights at clubs, but he could only do it once in a while since he was low on money. It was on one of those nights that he met the depressed Asami and befriended her.
