-Scarring covers much of his arms, hands, and back.
-Ears that taper off to a small point
-tends to avoid looking at people directly, a habit he picked up from his childhood
-horrible RBF
-always bounces his leg. It makes everyone around him nervous.
-pulls apart his split ends
-tends to come off as cold and reserved when he is around people he doesn't know, but loosens up quite a bit around familiar friends
-very timid when it comes to any physical contact/affection; eases up to someone before a hug, touch, etc.
-takes note of little things that people enjoy
He wishes to repay the world after he unwilling aided in the destruction of his home planet. After doing so, he can finally allow himself to die.
As the story progresses, however, his motivation becomes less self-centered once he is surrounded by companions that show him he has self worth. He still feels that he owes the people of Ecanta after what he did, but now he wishes to do this by protecting Haven so that it can live up to its namesake. He wants it to be a place where the people he has grown to love feel safe, and where other who feel lost can be found again (you know...typical protagonist stuff).
-He blames himself for circumstances he couldn't control and sees no good in himself.
-Past trauma often restricts him from certain tasks (i.e. getting a good night's sleep and confronting certain people from his past).
-Doesn't take care of himself because he thinks he does not deserve it. Another aspect of his self-punishment.
-Tends to blindly trust people that he is familiar with, even though it has gotten him into trouble multiple times.
-Never says no to anybody
-Sometimes misses cultural cues.
-Not a good liar
-Gets too caught up in pleasing others that he forgets about himself
-Often slacks off responsibilities when he is distracted by something more interesting
Leo does not display much prejudice. He does not hold a whole classification of people accountable for the actions of few. This even applies to the Kilekh. He knows that many of them do not harbor evil intent. Despite his efforts to remain neutral, he has no tolerance for abusers, and he will take action against them.
-Assessing situations (i.e. knowing if someone is lying or telling the truth)
-Identifying someone's emotional state and being able to act accordingly
-Accidentally making friends.
-Having multiple outlets of Wonder manipulation (aka has multiple abilities)
-Keeping secrets
-Knowing like 2 whole songs on the guitar and being way too proud about it
-Finding stray animals and taking them in even though his friends tell him it's a problem
-Somehow gaining the support of every lesbian he comes into contact with
-Reading books (this takes up most of his free time)
-Watching movies from Earth, which are considered ancient examples of theater to Ecantans
-Learning about the new cultures that have become integrated into Haven
-Hanging out with those raised on Earth so he can learn more about the culture (and also he desperate for friends who don't want to kill him)
-Taking care of whatever animals he decided to bring in that week
Leomihr is caring by nature, but he has a hard time of finding a way to display his compassion. He is typically introverted and shy, but he can assume a bold personality if the situation calls for it. He is often lost in his own head, making things out to be worse than they really are. It is rare that he does something for himself, finding the needs of the many greater than the needs of himself.
-Insomnia
April 20th (By the Earth calendar)
Ayperian 21st (Ecantan calendar)
As a prince, he was given the best education Ecanta had to offer. In addition to this, he learned the ways of the multiverse from Eternity.
Leo is the illegitimate son of an Ecantan scholar and an Elven prince of Earth. When his mother was forced to marry Chancellor Cralor Dracourt, his true identity was hidden, and the people were lead to believe that he was the nobleman's son. At home, however, Leo was never accepted as Cralor's offspring. The man made a point to the boy that he was useless mutt that was lucky to even be alive. His days were plagued by mental and physical abuse by his vile step-father and obsessive step-brother. Cralor even went as far as to tell the house staff to treat him differently. The only people in his household that did not abhor him on a daily basis were his mother, sister, and childhood nurse.
A pivotal moment in his life was when he was introduced to the royal Trueheart family at the age of twelve. It was there that he would meet two people that would influence him for as long as he would live. The first of the two was young princess Sara. Upon arriving at the Trueheart estate, Leomihr was sent away to the library so he would not inconvenience the other family. While meandering around endless shelves of books and documents, he ran into the reclusive girl. At first, he was given the cold treatment that she served everyone else, but his awkward personality and jabs at humor got the best of the girl. That was the start of a long friendship to come. Later, he was called down to the main hall to rejoin his family. On the journey there, Leo was stopped by a strange woman. She looked as if she were woven of galaxies and stardust strung together to rescue him. She made a few inquiries about the boy, already seeing his great potential. After some more questions and Leo's nervous pleas for her to let him return, the woman revealed her identity. She was Eternity, the fabled Gatekeeper of Ecanta. She was responsible for keeping the planet's balance with outside forces. Eternity informed the young Leo that she was in search of an apprentice, and he seemed to be a good candidate.
Though Cralor disapproved, Leo took up her offer. He spent much of his time with the Gatekeeper, learning how to channel the Wonder of the multiverse in a way that would maintain peace. He also spent what was left of his time with the aforementioned princess. The two grew to be inseparable, and their relationship exceeded that of just friends. As Sara grew older, however, she became more and more obsessed with honing her abilities to manipulate Wonder. Leo, on the other hand, had been learning the way of balance. On multiple occasions, he tried to warn Sara of the consequences of Wonder overuse, but she would heed him no mind. Eventually, he had no other choice but to cut her off. It was too dangerous to be associated with such a person.
This was the start of a very brief, yet dark, passage of time. Now that he no longer consorted with the royals of Ecanta, Cralor had no use for the boy. He informed Eternity that Leo would no longer be attending any sessions with her. He hoped that perhaps she would consider one of his biological children for the job. That did not end how he wanted to. In retaliation, he sent Leo to the Ecantan Guard Academy, a known place for royal mistakes. Just to rub salt in the wound even further, Cralor requested that Leo be placed at the palace upon graduation. If that was not enough, he asked that he be trained with the toughest students there, making it sound as if Leo needed extra training in order to succeed like the others. Everything was going downhill fast for the young man, and he began wondering if he'd ever feel joy like he did during that short period of time during his childhood.
However, the academy proved to be a blessing rather than a curse. His roommate, who was deemed the most dangerous student there due to his Kilekh heritage, turned out to be a wonderful mentor. Despite what the others thought, Xian Sinee was not naturally aggressive. Though proficient at teaching combat skills, he also taught Leo how to trust again. A close friendship was formed. As was common for him to do, Leo accidentally took this friendship to another level. Though their relationship was slightly scandalous, nobody dared break the two apart. That is, with the exception of Sara. She still had her eyes set on him, despite the constant rejection.
Mere days after his graduation, Leo was assigned to guard the Trueheart estate. After pulling some strings, Xian managed to get positioned there as well. Their first day just so happened to be one of the busiest times Ecanta ever experienced. Just a week prior, the Ecantan Council had voted to elect the three Trueheart girls to become Overseers of the Sub-Council. Coronation day coincided with the new rotation of guard staff.
Now that he was at the palace to work, Leo believed the family would leave him be. The opposite was true. Rather than treating him as staff, the royal family let him and a plus one attend as guests. Very dangerous guests. At least they could protect the family from a closer distance. Declining such an offer may have consequences, so he bent to their will. Discomfort, however, was not the issue of this night.
Akilah and her father, two prominent Kilekh leaders, had her eye on the powerful young man for quite some time. He was the weak link in the royal chain and would be perfect to execute her plan of attack. Using her powerful manipulation of Indifference, Akilah planted an inkling in his mind in order to control him. She used this connection to force him to attack Sara, nearly killing her in the process. It did not stop there. Leomihr soon became one of her strongest warriors. He slaughtered anyone Akilah ordered him to, all against his will. To keep him in line when her control could not reach him, Akilah used methods of fear. She allowed him to remember every deed he had done while under her influence. Furthermore, physical harm and mutilation were used. The weight of his sins eventually got to him, and Leo became the shell of who he used to be.
At his darkest hours, though, a former savior appeared to reclaim him. Eternity rescued him from the clutches of Akilah. From there, they picked up where they had left off in their training. Once she was sure she could trust the battered man, Eternity let him in on what she was doing. With each world the Kilekh destroyed, Eternity managed to save the scraps they missed. With those scraps, she pieced together a new realm in a pocket of space time. With Leo's help, she could now save many more. With some persuasion, he finally agreed to the terms that set him on the path to become the new gatekeeper.
Two cats (Bubbles and Dumpling) and a pitbull (Luma).
He also takes care of roughly 30 cats at an animal sanctuary he created when he exceeded the limit of strays he could keep in his room.
-Eternity keeps him as her apprentice during the creation of Haven. He often retrieves desired people from broken or Indifferent universes.
He always takes in stray animals. It becomes a major problem.
