She was used as an experiment to make a super soldier. This was not a government experiment but put on by a scientist who wanted to gain the trust of the government. She was used because she was a female and she would be able to give birth to more soldiers. She was put through many cruel experiments including being infused with the blood and magic of her friends. Chesh went into a rage and killed most of the scientists. Zara who was a tech scientist calmed her down and help her escape. The scientist caught up with Zara but Zara sent her to Chicago. Chesh there fended for herself until she was found by Nykidia, Night and Flyn.
