Jason hates the Institute, he knows it was their Synths that tried to kill him and and ripped into his face.
Jason deep down wants nothing more than to find his son Shaun but with no leads he has almost given up, he is waiting for a sign to begin again. Now he is a mercenary for only people he thinks deserve his services. (Good folk like farmers in trouble with bad people)
He is skilled in survival, stealth, combat and Guerrilla tactics. He is a military trained Commando, killing efficiently and getting what he wants was his job description.
Jason likes restoring old machines from his time. It makes him feel like he isn't alone, like somethings came with him to the broken future. That's why he takes great care of his bike "The Lone Wanderer"
Jason is a reluctant hero if anything. He doesn't care at first, but he always finds himself making the right decision mostly because since his wife died he always hears her voice telling him what he should do.
Jason is an alternate version of Nate from Fallout 4. This version is set in an alternate reality where shit has hit the fan more than it already has in the canon.
In this world instead of a futuristic 50's gone to hell it's more futuristic 80's gone to hell. ( Don't ask thought it would be cool, also an excuse to mention cooler music)
Nora is still dead. Shaun is not Father but the original father is still kicking and hires Kellogg to do the same job as in canon. Kellogg is more ruthless and more formidable being more and more augmented. (Not like full terminator just more than he was in canon)
Jason wakes up two years later and two synths are stationed at the vault to keep prying eyes away and complete any research that comes up, so basically a dead station. Jason however miraculously wakes up 2 years after his life support was supposedly shut off still frozen alive. He wakes up in the Wasteland and is already hunted by the two Synths.
Jason kills the first one with an electrified baton, the second however gets caught in a door and in an attempt to rip Jason's face off it only digs into his face with it's fingers leaving him with four scrapes across the left side of his face.
Jason immediately escapes the Vault after that and mourns for days before leaving his home for the Wasteland. (Codsworth isn't around)
Jason find Nick Valentine and they investigate Kellogg but lose all leads. (Seriously track him with Dogmeat?!) So 3 years Jason has almost given up on finding Shaun and is now a Mercenary who works for people he considers deserve his help. (Basically does what the player does but not as a Minuteman.
World Status: Without the main character around things kinda went to shit. The Institute wiped out the Brotherhood, the Railroad are barely operational, Preston is alive and so is Sturges but everyone else is gone, so Preston is a lot like Jason and now is Mercenary who helps only good folk. Just no more hats or fancy words. Preston has given up on the Minutemen for good.
Danse is aware of his Synth background mainly because he's like robo two-face now , but he hasn't given up on fighting the Institute. He met Jason just as he was about to blow his head off with a shotgun. Jason talked him out of it and now they are best-friends.
Sinjin is the main villain. Hancock is dead and he knew Sinjin would be a problem later on if he went unchecked. With Jason on ice Sinjin grew he trashed Goodneighbour and left to start his own little empire. Now he's coming back crazier and more powerful with his own plot to threaten the commonwealth with his own nuke.
(Cars are a thing. If I can build a teleportation machine then there should be working cars!)
Each character is a representation of the Four Horsemen.
Jason is the representation of Death. He is constantly surrounded by it no matter what. It is a death of someone he cares about and he is a force of nature and all of his enemies fall no matter the odds. They all die.
(Not in some magical way, he physically has to kill them but he could be 1 man against hundreds and eventually come out on top.)

His motorcycle "The Lone Wanderer" it's red and has a turbine jet strapped to it. (For business and fun)
Canned Dog Food (but if it hasn't been stored in a cellar then it's almost as bad as the other irradiated meat)
Mercenary
Since politics are mostly gone and Jason ignores the current ones he has very simple rules in life. 1: Be an asshole get a free bullet. 2: Don't say anything to a lady in the street you wouldn't wanna hear from a guy in prison. 3:
