She has magical blood, royal blood, which means that she can control the locket. Her actual father is a distant cousin of the bad guy, so the bad guy is a distant cousin. She thinks her father is the prince who has been captured, but he isn’t actually the real prince: a long time ago a king and queen had a son who was without magic, so they gave him away, pretending he disappeared during an attack, and had no more children. They adopted one and so the line of the royal family continued, but not completely. The abandoned boy married and had children, and know his descendant seeks revenge. He tries to corrupt Alexa by telling her all this, but she doesn’t change sides
