Abigail's father left her mother hours after she realized she was having a child. Linda Miller, Abigail's mother, worked herself near death to raise Abigail. Linda made sure her daughter could get into college. Abigail met Jonas Strander in college. Abigail reluctantly began going on dates with him, years later the two end up married. A few years after their marriage they adopted three children.
