He is usually a modest and shy person, with his main drive being his passion for studying, knowledge and artistic improvement, which helps him in his social life. Despite being shy and a little awkward, he is a good friend, who is willing to help in times of need. Most of the times he comes off as an easily scared or intimidated individual, who would rather sit down and scribble all day than do normal boys' stuff. He greatly appreciates anyone who gives him a good feedback on his art, tearing up a bit if the person compliments his art without him asking them to tell their opinion.
Even though he's a shy boy, he is shown to be able to summon some courage and stand up for people he cares for, more than he would do for himself. He has the unfortunate tendency to start sobbing if his anxiety levels go too high.
Whistling when guilty, playing with his hands when happy, doodling in his sketchbook when bored, tends to become stiff when scared, bites his lower lip when concentrating, offers a shy smile from time to time. He jerks his leg rapidly when seated, constantly keeps his eyes down when speaking to people in order to avoid eye contact.
Becoming a known and appreciated artist
Even though he can create some impressive pieces, he still clings on to the idea his art isn't good enough
He can be absent-minded sometimes, overemotional and easily intimidated.
Low self esteem - he tends to underappreciate himself and his art most of the time
Losing his vision - as an artist, this fear is pretty self explanatory
Never achieving anything important in life - the idea he might never do anything with his gift is enough to make him lose all hope
Alphonse was born with only his left arm. The right arm is a proesthetic made by his mentor.
He also has social anxiety, that makes him question the strength of his bond with his friends
He's a pretty good artist, can draw very fast and has a good photographic memory
Bird watching, studying wildlife, taking long walks alone, looking for inspiration, reading fantasy novels, making quick sketches of Narion
20th October
He was mostly home schooled by teachers his mother would sometimes hire, although he shows a great interest in biology, math and literature
Alphonse was born in a moderately wealthy house, in a quiet city, freshly taken under the Empire's command. Having been born with just one arm, he was the laughing stock of some older kids in the area which really shot down his self esteem. To cope with the bullying, he began submerging into the land of literature, math and drawing, becoming a very talented artist over time. Unfortunately, his father went missing when he was about 5 yrs old, leaving him alone with his mother. Wanting to follow in his father's footsteps as a mechanical designer, he developed a passion for mechanics, solidified even more after his mentor had built him a proesthetic arm, to ease his life. During this time, he developed a type of anxiety related to his personal art, as it did not gain nearly as much attention as his technical works.
In time, he also discovered his own magical ability, that allowed him to project his drawings in the real world, an ability that would eventually help him be noticed by some of the mentors in the area. He was taken as an apprentice by one of them, learning more about mechanics and various other things. In time, he developed a stronger passion for portraying the world in his own version, through his art, which led to his wish to become a renowned artist and combine all his passions into one.
He was eventually sent to continue his studies in a different city, and all seemed to be going just fine when he was one day taken aside and told how his magical ability might prove helpful for the purposes of the Empire, under the assumption he will take the offer gladly. Upon hearing this, he was devastated, not wanting his gift to be exploited for vile purposes such as another pointless war. He wanted to be a free artist, to draw what he wanted, to reflect the beauty of the world.
Just when he was questioning what to do, he came across Tanis and his sibling Narion, who had been kidnapped in the middle of a trip they were taking with their caretaker; the two children asked him for help in order to return home. Even though Alphonse had never been outside the walls of his city, he agreed to help the two leave, while also joining them, in the hope of getting away from the people who intended to use him.
Ink transition: Uses his magic to bring whatever he draws to reality. Depending on how much magic he uses, he can fully materialize the drawings, or just leave them in their golden raw magic form
Out of all things, he enjoys drawing various fish, and then making them swim around the room, on invisible currents
He later learns to create portals to different locations by drawing the place he needs to go on a large surface (he needs to know how the place looks like before creating a functioning portal)
