Saldivar grew up around the barracks for the King's soldiers, as a maid's daughter. She was a runt for most of her childhood and got picked on a lot, so the soldiers taught her to fight. They had no patience for weakness, which made her as strong as she is today. She models their teaching style now, and has protective urges for runts like Winter, which she channels into pushing them even harder.
