In this Universe, Mike is more mentally sound due to the lack of the death of his wife and assumed death of Robert. He still loves his kids, but not thinking two of his family members are dead makes him an all-around happier man, especially after he meets and begins to date Darren. In this world, he marries Darren years after his divorce.
