Walker is strict but not unkind. He cares a lot for his friends and family. He gives clear and direct orders and can appear cold in certain work situations. But he also loves sitting down and talking and laughing during lunch.

Walker believes that prejudices in society is responsible for many of it's problems and tries to keep his mind as open as possible. This sometimes collides with Michelle's profiling views.

His son David is from his first marriage. Walker is still on good terms with David's mother and they often celebrate New Year together. Willow, Ruby and Opal are his children from his current marriage.
