Beetle-black
Newportian (think Middle Eastern, slightly African)

Escaping Khia alive, making up for her past mistakes
Indecisive. She'll second-guess herself so much that she'll miss the moment to actually act. Wildly insecure; she doesn't believe in herself to be able to save people or cause change. Ashamed of her past and her ancestry when both are something to be proud of. This shame often leads to her being closed off. She's also very cowardly, largely for fear of getting hurt. Overthinks pretty much everything.
Passionately against bystanders in conflict. This isn't entirely justified, but if she sees a conflict and there are people who could help standing off to the side, she immediately dislikes them regardless of their situation. This largely stems from her own situation with her cousin. It also makes her hypocritical, as she is still very cowardly, something that she hates herself for.
Incredibly gifted moon magician, though she hates it. Elegant dancer, good listener, very motherly. Has the most beautiful smile and laugh; can cheer anyone up.
Loves to dance, listen to piano, violin, and flute music, and spend time with Ronan. She doesn't mind if they're talking--she's content to just sit and read together. She likes reading about history.
Very, very much the mom friend. She's a good influence on everyone with her gentleness and her soft presence. Of course, much of this softness stems from a well-hidden guilt and fear. Regardless, she's amazing at making others happy, and her smile is infectious. Inside, though, she's a mess of grief over her cousin's death. She believes that she could have prevented it, but is ashamed to admit this to anyone.
Twirls her hair when she's thinking, laughs a bit to break awkwardness or tension, flutters her fingers when she's feeling uncomfortable, uses big hand gestures when she's excited
April 29
There was nothing overly notable about Andrea's childhood. She was adopted and raised by Askerian parents in the small village of Lerou. She had no siblings, but her foster cousin, Sammy, lived close by. The two of them were very close.
When Andrea was 18, her cousin was abducted by Tara and Rey Lycantree. She was horrified when she found out. Her boyfriend, Ronan, came to stay with her to make sure she was doing all right. While Ronan was with her, she saw Sammy. He tried to escape, running to her, but he was dragged back. Ronan pulled Andrea away to make sure that she didn't get hurt. From inside a shop, Andrea saw her cousin beaten, but she was paralyzed with fear and didn't move to help him. The incident sent Andrea on a downward spiral. It was believed that Sammy was dead, and she blamed herself.
Six months later, it emerged that he was alive, but greatly changed by the experience with the twins. He chose to stay in Amberfell to heal, and Andrea decided not to go to him. This was in part because she believed that he needed his new companions now, but also because she was afraid of what she would find in Amberfell. Another six months later, she finally plucked up the courage to go to her cousin. Not three days later, the news broke that he was dead.
Andrea was sent into a dark place following his death. She believed that her cowardly actions had led to his death. She decided to go to Khia, refusing to look at the town where she'd seen a dead man beaten. Ronan went with her. In Khia, the borders closed and the silver purge began.
While Ronan just wanted to get her out of the city in peace, the allegations against his family were still flying. On top of that, Cecilia's information on Annabelle Wintergreen set them on a collision course. Ultimately, Annabelle sent them into slavery in the slums to keep them from making the information public.
There, Andrea was sent to a brothel, while Ronan was to work in construction. She lasted nearly two months before driving by his place of 'work' and seeing him whipped. She made an escape attempt and went to save him, intending not to stand by as she had before. This earned her her first beating, but she believed it worth it for the half-second of healing she gave Ronan. Days later, they were rescued by Antonia.

Yes, yes, technically hair doesn't just turn white, but this is called creative liberty!!
Samuel is actually her cousin, as is Lannon!!
Occasionally demonstrates minor symptoms of PTSD, but not regularly.
She's always wearing black in mourning for her cousin. Generally, she wore something skirted, but with all the recent scheming she's transitioned to black leggings, boots, and shirt.
Heterosexual/straight
Her powerful magic stems from her relation to Lannon Roze. This is also why she hates it so much.

The note from her cousin. I mean, he wrote it when he was nine, but the fact that he wrote it still gets to her.

Liberally inclined, although she drifts more conservative in economic matters and immigration policy
