Born into royal family, mother hid him from his murderous father by adopting him out into a random city separate from his brother. His adopted parents told him of his unknown origins at an early age, and Ayko accepted them as his parents, even if not biological. Not long after he had turned ten, his parents started having money issues. The city threatened to put his mothers tavern out of business. Wanting to help, Ayko looked into finding a job. His only options were physical labor, or mercenary work. He chose to become a mercenary, and start his very successful career. (The Eternal on his neck was already there when his adopted parents found him, the origin is unknown.)
