Being born an aasimar is pretty common in Kamaria, and Temperance was by no means special when he was growing up. Of course he was expected to be all things good, to embody the virtues of the deity whose power he inherited, and to be part of the church structure.

Even from a young age Temperance was disillusioned with it. He wanted to be free, to do what he pleased with his life and not be beholden to some idea of what he should be because of what he was born as. Which meant when he was sent to The Crystal River Academy to study he was quick to talk to the headmistress about it and see if she could help him.

The headmistress understood his situation all too well and did what she could. She made excuses for him to stay at school over the summers so he didn't have to go home, and when he graduated she offered him a job at the Academy tutoring under one of the teachers as a replacement.

Of course that would not last. Temperance stayed long enough to earn enough coin to travel and see the world and he took off, leaving the headmistress scrambling to find a replacement. Eventually she had no choice but to ask for him to come back - something he agreed to do as a favor to her. But the young man she knew was far changed by his time in the world and were it not for their history things would be very different now...
