Zeraora Sanchez (WIP)
The universe of the Pokémon video games (a few months after the end of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon)
zair-ah-OR-ah san-chez
Officer Sanchez
Tiffany Sanchez (pseudonym)
“Livewire” (pseudonym)
As an amnesiac hailing from an Ultra Wormhole—a portal that connects to another world—no one can be sure.
She usually appears human (Latina, young adult) but this is not her real appearance. Her true form is that of the Pokémon Zeraora. Somehow, she is able to transform into one shape from the other—and not even she knows how.
Genetic tests show that she is one-hundred percent human in human form and one-hundred percent Pokémon in Pokémon form.
She would be described by Earthlings as Hispanic.
Female
Young adult (mid-twenties)
Police officer
Officer of the Pokémon world’s International Police
5’00” (human)
4’3” (Pokémon)
—> Her scarf-tail is 4’0”
I know Zeraora the species averages 4’11” but that’s too tall bro
Maybe she expends too much energy in her transformations and that’s why she’s short in both forms
A (the most common among cats)
She doesn’t question orders at all. (Trusting nature of a Pokémon)
A lot of her moral code is like that of a Pokémon’s (not fully human?)
Never loses sight of the mission.
Never gives ip on the mission.
Not forceful in opinion.
Disciplined, would never disobey an order.
Zeraora Sanchez (Zeraora) (F) @ Poke Ball
Ability: ???
Level: 55
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Serious Nature
- Blaze Kick
- Shock Wave
- Plasma Fists
- Drain Punch
Electric-type
Fifty-five
Unknown. Most Zeraora have the Ability “Volt Absorb,” but she does not. As far as anyone can tell, she doesn’t have any Ability at all. (This is very strange, because every Pokémon is supposed to have some sort of Ability.)
She has trained to excel at physical attacks and in speed, with an elementary amount of training in “special” (energy) attacks such as her special move “Shock Wave.”
“Blaze Kick”
A fiery physical attack.
Zeraora launches a devastating kick with a flaming foot or leg. If it lands, it will leave the target with a burn.
“Shock Wave”
A shocking “special” electrical attack.
Zeraora generates a quick jolt of electricity. The shock will “home in” on an enemy and pursue them even if they try to dodge.
“Plasma Fists”
A close-quarters electrical attack. It’s an attack that only Officer Sanchez and other Zeraora can perform.
The user attacks with electrically charged fists. Sparks fly everywhere during the course of this move. The sparks are charged with Pokémon magic and cause Normal-type attacks used near them to become Electric-type.
“Drain Punch”
A physical Fighting-type specialty.
Zeraora attacks with an energy-draining punch. Through contact, she saps her foe’s fighting spirit—revitalizing herself and weakening the will of the target.
Poof! I’m a cat
Poof! I’m a human

She got transferred 😭😭😭
She a Faller ooooooooooh

She don’t really care she a Faller ooooooooooooooooooooooooh
Employers don’t really care she a Faller oooooh
So they took her outta the Task Force and let her do her own thing oooh
Telling people she’s NOT a furry!! She didn’t ask to be an anthropomorphic yellow cat!! And she usually isn’t one, anyway! She stays in HUMAN form!
Do not pet her when she is in cat form.
Gallade has been with her the longest. It is also her strongest fighter.
She is stronger than all of her team when takes her Pokémon form.
Click here to see her team in Smogon format, with moves, Abilities, EVs, and more.
The Pokémon she keeps with her at all times (her “team” or “party”) are as follows:
Galvantula 🕷️⚡️
Gallade ⚔️🔮
Venusaur 🐸🌺
Crobat 🦇☠️
Magcargo 🐌🌋
Rattata (Alolan) 🐭🎈
She sometimes fights alongside her Pokémon in her Zeraora form. She doesn’t count herself as a party Pokémon because she is the Trainer.
Usually, in six-versus-six Singles style battles, Zeraora fights instead of her Galvantula or Rattata.
Male, timid in nature, loves to eat
Attacks: Discharge, Electroweb, String Shot, Camouflage
Galvantula supports Zeraora in combat. The Officer can’t make her own electricity, so before a fight, Galvantula allows her to take most of its own. It can launch sturdy threads of electric silk from its abdomen, which shock and immobilize anyone who touches them. Officer Sanchez is resistant to paralysis in her Pokémon form, so she can hold the silk and use it in combat—to disable criminals, for example. With six eyes working in unison, Galvantula’s sight is a hundred times better than that of a human.
Discharge: An Electric-type attack. First, Galvantula gathers electricity. Next, it lets the energy loose with a mighty burst. The burst is hard to control, though, so sometimes, Galvantula just uses this move to charge electricity. Then, Galvantula can unload the energy with an Electroweb, which is more easily directed. When Zeraora needs to borrow electricity, Galvantula may charge up with this move beforehand.
Electroweb: An Electric-type attack, though it reminds one of a Bug-type’s. Galvantula sends an electric spider-web flying at an opponent. If it hits its target, it will surely trap them. The web is like electric wire—if you touch it, it gives you a shock.
String Shot: A Bug-type specialty. From its abdomen, Galvantula shoots out a sticky thread. The thread is electric and warm to the touch. It will surely zap anything other than an Electric-type Pokémon.
Camouflage: A specialty move. Changing the color of its fur, Galvantula disappears into the scenery. The camouflage isn’t perfect, but it’ll make do in a pinch.
Gallade @ Auspicious Armor
Ability: Sharpness
Level: 48
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
- Teleport
- Psycho Cut
- Brick Break
- Quick Guard
An amorphous, bipedal knight-like creature, dark green and white in color. Its elbows, which come to a sharp point, can extend into slender green blades. Zeraora’s Gallade wears light armor that protects the torso.
Male, brave in nature, sturdy body
Attacks: Teleport, Psycho Cut, Brick Break, Quick Guard
Gallade is a valorous defender of the innocent! It can teleport and sense what enemies are thinking. When the friendly officer has to get somewhere quickly, it’s through Gallade’s teleportation that she does it. Gallade’s elbows extend into sharp blades when it’s time for battle. With these, it can slice objects or parry attacks. It dons lightweight armor to protect its body.
Teleport: A Psychic-type specialty. Channeling all of its power, Gallade transports itself and those in its direct vicinity to another location. This move exhausts Gallade, so it can’t fight for a while after using it.
Psycho Cut: A Psychic-type cut attack. Using the blades on its forearms, Gallade slashes. The impact causes both physical and psychological pain. Can be used to cut past thin walls or doors.
Brick Break: A Fighting-type chop attack used to break barriers. It’s strong enough to cleave through a thick stone wall. Brick Break takes a lot of energy out of Gallade.
Quick Guard: A specialty move. It makes Gallade hyper-aware of its surroundings. This lets it jump to the defense of a civilian at the very moment of attack.
Venusaur (M) @ Venusaurite
Ability: Overgrow
Level: 36
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Docile Nature
- Sleep Powder
- Knock Off
- Sludge Bomb
- Energy Ball
A huge, squat frog. A cascading flower sprouts from its backside. Thick green leaves from the flower drape over parts of the frog’s body. Zeraora’s Venusaur has a thick band around its right leg that holds a rare Mega Stone—the Venusaurite.
Male, docile in nature, likes to relax
Attacks: Sleep Powder, Knock Off, Sludge Bomb, Energy Ball
Venusaur is a strong Pokémon that can take lots of hits. Venusaur is one of the gentlest Poison-types, so it’s good with children as well as in battle. It can extend prehensile vines from its back to grab objects. With the vines, it can hold large loads while walking. The soothing scent of the flower on its back calms anyone who is afraid. When not on a mission, it sleeps in the sun.
While Venusaur is equipped with a Venusaurite, Officer Sanchez hasn’t been able to Mega Evolve it yet. The most exciting thing that’s happened so far is a mutual “tingly feeling.” Mastering Mega Evolution is an intensive process that takes time and focus. Sadly, as one of Interpol’s busiest officers, Zeraora hasn’t been able to devote either.
Sleep Powder: A Grass-type specialty. Venusaur fires sticky pollen at a foe. The pollen makes them drowsy. It takes a moment to work, though, and it’s not easy to land. Grass-type Pokémon aren’t affected by the pollen.
Knock Off: A Dark-type attack. With a heavy, swinging vine, Venusaur knocks an object to the ground. Can also be used as a slamming attack—for example, to break down a door.
Sludge Bomb: A Poison-type attack. Venusaur lobs gunk and grime at a target. The force and smell alike could bring a man to his knees. Shared with Crobat.
Energy Ball: A Grass-type energy attack requiring lots of focus. Venusaur gathers all of its power into a sphere. Then, it hurls it at a target. The sphere is made of pure energy, so it could send an object flying.
Crobat (M)
Ability: Inner Focus
Level: 42
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 8 HP / 252 SpA / 248 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Bomb
- Hurricane
- Defog
- Mean Look
A big purple bat with a cross expression and four wings. It has no feet nor arms—its body is a simple purple blob. It has long, horn-like ears and little feet like a penguin’s. The lower pair of wings is smaller.
Male, adamant in nature, hates to lose
Attacks: Sludge Bomb, Hurricane, Defog, Mean Look
Crobat is silent, nimble, and subtle. Its wingflaps can’t be heard by the naked ear, so it can sneak up on anybody. With its four wings, it can fly for a whole day before having to rest. It scouts for threats and surveys for information. With its big, strong wings, it can fly short distances with two adults on its back. Crobat never loses sight of the mission, no matter the situation. In fact, it’s disappointed several lady Crobat who’ve tried to hook up with it on duty.
Sludge Bomb: A Poison-type attack. Crobat lobs gunk and grime at a target. The force and smell alike could bring a man to his knees. Shared with Venusaur.
Hurricane: A wind attack often used by Flying-types. Crobat gusts up a miniature twister, suspending a foe in midair. The victim is very dizzy afterward.
Defog: A Flying-type specialty move which clears an area of fog and flimsy objects. Hats should be held close during use of this move.
Mean Look: A specialty move. With a glare of great intensity, Crobat stops an enemy in its tracks. It’s involuntary. They can’t help but cower. Of course, they must make eye contact for it to work.
Magcargo (F) @ Fireproof Saddle
Ability: Magma Armor
Level: 40
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Recover
- Flamethrower
- Smog
- Ancient Power
A snail with a body of magma. Its shell is made of rock and is typically a little flimsy. The shell of Zeraora’s Magcargo is sturdier than average. A fireproof saddle has been strapped to its shell.
Female, calm in nature, takes plenty of siestas
Attacks: Recover, Flamethrower, Smog, Ancient Power
This is Magcargo the dependable magma snail. Zeraora has fitted a saddle on its shell which allows Magcargo to be ridden. With its amorphous body, Magcargo can traverse any kind of terrain. Not even hot magma can stop it! Its resilience carries over to combat, too. Magcargo’s hard shell can take a real battering, and the softness of its body lessens impacts. It can conjure fire as a barrier or source of light.
Recover: A specialty move that allows Magcargo to heal its injuries. Generally used after a long journey, but also works during battle.
Flamethrower: A Fire-type attack in which Magcargo breathes magical fire.
Smog: A Poison-type attack. Magcargo exhales a heavy, pungent gas. The gas makes it hard to breathe. Often used to block off exits when a criminal has been pinned down.
Ancient Power: A special Rock-type attack which energizes the user. The first attack Magcargo uses in battle, usually. This gets it pumped up for a good, hard battle.
Scamper (Rattata-Alola) (M) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Thick Fat
Level: 36
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpD / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Switcheroo
- Crunch
- Hidden Power [Rock]
- Toxic
It is a black rat with a cream belly and snout fur curved up like a mustache near its nose. It can walk on its hind legs, but is usually on all fours. Scamper wears a special vest while on police duty.
Male, hasty in nature, somewhat of a clown
Attacks: Switcheroo, Crunch, the Rock-type Hidden Power, Toxic
Scamper the Alolan Rattata is smart and sneaky. It’s sharp as a tack, but a little bit skittish. Because of its small size and dark color, it can conduct covert investigations without drawing attention to itself. Hard-to-reach spaces are no match for it. Scamper’s keen sense of smell leads it to important clues during investigations. It wears a special vest with an Air Balloon inside. A lever on the vest inflates the balloon with helium. When things get messy, it pulls the lever for a quick and sweet getaway.
Scamper is from a nest of Rattata near Konikoni City in the Alola region. “Scamper” was the name the senior Raticate had. When Scamper the Rattata was caught by Zeraora, the Rattata took its name so it could feel just as strong as its boss.
Switcheroo: A specialty move. Imbued with Dark-type energy, Scamper captures an object at breakneck speed. Can also be used to swap items—sneakily!
Crunch: A Dark-type bite attack. Generally used to chew through barriers, but it’s also not a bad tactic in battle.
Hidden Power: A Rock-type attack which requires great focus. With its mind, Scamper picks up rocks and hurls them at a target. Sometimes used as a distraction.
Toxic: A specialty move only used as a last resort. Using its monster powers to imbue its fangs with venom, Scamper poisons a foe. The victim will weaken over time and eventually pass out. If a criminal is about to get away, this move will stop them, or at least make sure that they don’t get far.
When she was in the UB Task Force she had another team (explain this)

Bulky water masquerain? Promising…
Garchomp (M)
Ability: Sand Veil
Level: 48*
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 40 HP / 40 Atk / 40 Def / 40 SpD
Lax Nature
- Dig
- Dragon Pulse
- Dragon Rush
- Flamethrower
*When Zeraora left the UB Task Force, her level was 45. Garchomp was a higher level than her for most of her time there. In other words, Garchomp was a better fighter than her. Oftentimes she would leave it to its own devices in a fight while commanding her other Pokémon.
Male, lax in nature, takes plenty of siestas
Attacks: Dig, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Rush, Flamethrower
Garchomp is a brick wall for foes. There’s no getting past a six-foot-tall shark dragon without a whammer of a fight. And Zeraora’s Garchomp puts up a whammer of a fight! It’s a bit slow-witted, but it won’t let a scratch come to the things it loves. That means its team, and that means the innocent. Whether it’s a criminal or an Ultra Beast it’s battling, it will fight jagged tooth and wicked claw to protect its friends. When it’s not on duty, it loves to frolic among the daisies and play with children.
Garchomp isn’t in her main party because it’s a little clumsy and isn’t very subtle. When she does use it, she usually swaps it for Venusaur or Scamper.
Dig: A Ground-type attack. Quick as a flash, Garchomp burrows into the earth. Then, it bursts out beneath its quarry with claws raised to the heavens. This move can be used in many ways outside of battle: to hide, to make a tunnel, to dig into a secret passage underground, to find buried evidence. To find its quarry while underground, Garchomp listens to the vibrations in the earth. It can hear movement better while in the dirt. Because of this, to get a real grasp of the area around her, Zeraora may order Garchomp to use Dig to enhance its senses. This is useful for reconnaissance.
Dragon Pulse: A Dragon-type beam attack. Gathering all its dragon essence into its maw, Garchomp razes all around it with a white-hot stream of energy. The flames that arise where the beam struck are not orange, but red and ocean green. They produce little smoke.
Dragon Rush: A tackle attack used by big, heavy reptile Pokémon. Garchomp channels its inner Dragon-type energy into its body. Then, it rushes forward. Dragon Rush can be used to break down a door or wall. Dragon Rush can also be used to knock a foe to the ground. Garchomp can then pin them down until help arrives.
Flamethrower: Favorite move of Fire-types and dragons. Garchomp attacks by breathing hot, hot fire. It’s a little hard for Garchomp to use, since it’s not a Fire-type—sometimes it can’t make anything but smoke. But it’s a useful move to have, even if it doesn’t always work. With Flamethrower, Garchomp can light torches or create barriers. (The smoke hinders visibility, so for barriers, Dragon Pulse’s fire is preferable.)
Espeon (F)
Ability: Synchronize
Level: 23
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 80 SpA / 20 SpD / 24 Spe
Brave Nature
- Psychic
- Double Kick
- Helping Hand
- Future Sight
Female, brave in nature, strongly defiant
Attacks: Psychic, Double Kick, Helping Hand, Future Sight
Espeon, while young, is one of Zeraora’s most dedicated Pokémon. It’s incredibly loyal and never shirks a duty. Gallade is its mentor. Espeon evolved only a short time ago, so it doesn’t have much battle experience. Furthermore, it has difficulty controlling its powers sometimes. A strong Psychic or Future Sight attack will leave it disoriented. With precognition, Espeon can sense immediate disaster. Any criminal looking to ambush Zeraora while Espeon’s in the team is in for a nasty surprise! Espeon loves fish sticks.
Espeon isn’t in Zeraora’s current party because of its young age. Zeraora wants to help it hone its psychic powers so it can join her one day. Espeon looks forward to it!
Psychic: An attack that requires deep focus. Tapping into its extrasensory powers, Espeon manipulates objects without touching them. It can use this to grab things from far away, dial a number on a telephone across the room, snap a door in two, or toss a friend out of danger. Espeon can even suspend a creature in the air, immobilizing it. Of course, Psychic requires great focus and is incredibly tiring to use.
Espeon doesn’t like to show weakness. It tries to hide its fatigue after this move. But Zeraora knows her Pokémon, so she doesn’t make it fight hard after Psychic. While Gardevoir was in the team, they shared this move.
Double Kick: An attack quadrupeds love. Putting all its weight on its front paws, Espeon kicks back with its hind legs. It’s surprisingly strong coming off a frail pink cat. Espeon can also donkey kick with one leg.
Helping Hand: A magical specialty move used to assist a friend. Espeon uses its abilities to amplify the power of an ally’s attacks. It cheers them on, too, boosting that ally’s morale!
Future Sight: A move only used by powerful Psychic-types. Espeon closes its eyes and focuses deeply. Then, it sees what may happen in the near future. It can also project an attack into that future—i.e., readying an attack to fire the moment an enemy is meant to appear. Future Sight takes a lot out of Espeon and it can’t fight well after using it.
Her Gardevoir was a loan Pokémon owned by the UB Task Force. They were a team for a long time, but when Zeraora was transferred out of the UBTF, she had to leave it behind.
Her Gardevoir was begrudged to be Zeraora’s battle partner at first, but eventually, a great friendship blossomed between them.
Gardevoir (F)
Ability: Synchronize
Level: 43
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 100 SpA / 100 Spe
Quiet Nature
- Teleport
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
- Hypnosis
Female, quiet in nature, proud of its power
Attacks: Teleport, Psychic, Dazzling Gleam, Hypnosis
Gardevoir was a close partner of Zeraora’s while she was on the Task Force. When Officer Sanchez first met it, Gardevoir was cold, nonchalant, and disagreeable. It was Zeraora who helped it to believe that humans could be friends as well as masters. Gardevoir could do magnificent things with its psychic powers—lift objects, disorient enemies, even communicate with Pokémon and Ultra Beasts telepathically. It could anticipate events in the immediate future, like the sudden formation of an Ultra Wormhole, and warn others of them. Its teamwork with Gallade was unparalleled. Sadly, Gardevoir wasn’t actually Officer Sanchez’s Pokémon. It belonged to the UB Task Force itself. When Sanchez was transferred out of the UB Task Force, Gardevoir had to be left behind.
Teleport: A Psychic-type specialty. Channeling all of its power, Gardevoir would transport itself and those in its direct vicinity to another location. This move exhausted Gardevoir, so it couldn’t fight for a while after using it. Gardevoir was a little better at Teleport than Gallade was. Shared with Gallade.
Psychic: An attack that required deep focus. Tapping into its extrasensory powers, Gardevoir could manipulate objects without touching them. It could use this to grab things from far away, dial a number on a telephone across the room, snap a door in two, or toss a friend out of danger. Gardevoir could even suspend a creature in the air, immobilizing it. Of course, Psychic required great focus and was incredibly tiring to use. Oftentimes after this move, Gardevoir would retreat back into its Poké Ball and conk out. It shared this move with Espeon.
Dazzling Gleam: A mystical light attack of whirling colors. Gardevoir would emit a highly focused beam of bright light. This would blind and stun Gardevoir’s target. The beam was magical and would leave numb any area of the body it touched.
Hypnosis: Another specialty of Psychic-types. With the power of suggestion, Gardevoir would lull a foe to sleep. It required eye contact to work and could be shaken off by a strong will or by strong emotions. Sometimes, Mawile and Gardevoir would work as a tag team pairing this move and Play Nice. Mawile would calm a foe down and Gardevoir would put it to bed.

She did not build either her current team or her old UB-fighting team with a specific type of Pokémon in mind. In fact, she went out of her way to choose different kinds of Pokémon. Caring for dissimilar Pokémon is more expensive, but the variety in attributes is well worth it. A high-ranking officer of the International Police should be able to adapt to any situation. Having a wide array of Pokémon at your disposal helps a lot!
Of course, she didn’t choose her Pokémon at random. Her first team (built for work in the UB Task Force) was constructed with a “two for three roles” plan: two Pokémon on the front lines to take hits and defend, two Pokémon in the back lines to attack when the time was right, and two Pokémon as floater all-rounders to support those who needed it most. (These roles went to Garchomp and Gallade, Gardevoir and Espeon, and Masquerain and Mawile.)
When she was transferred out of the UBTF, Zeraora remapped her team, but stuck to the same principles: this time with Magcargo and Gallade, Venusaur and Crobat, and Galvantula and Scamper.
Zeraora visits the UB Task Force branch of Interpol’s headquarters often. She does this to say hello to her old battle partner Gardevoir. Recently, though, that’s become difficult. The UB Task Force’s new Chief took Gardevoir for her own team. Gardevoir is away from base more often now.
