Cosmina was found on the steps of the Church of Valour in Kamaria when she was just an infant, seemingly abandoned by her biological parents. The head of the church at that time took the baby in and raised her as his own, even sending her off to The Crystal River Academy when she was old enough.

Upon her graduation she returned to the Church, hoping that her excellent grades would press her father into nominating her as his successor only to find he had chosen another. Thankfully the other person wasn't inclined to take the mantle at all, and unless they did or her father nominated someone else who accepted Cosmina would be next in line by virtue of being his daughter.

Before he could either convince his chosen to take it up or nominate someone else he fell ill, eventually succumbing to the disease. Cosmina took over the church after that point, running it far differently from the way her father did and yet still managing to keep everyone and everything in line along the way.
