When his dad (an alcoholic with an aggressive history) tried to beat his little sister for refusing to get him another drink, and lloyd stood between them, taking most of the beating. his sister went to get his mom, but she was so terrified, she couldnt move a muscle. little sister called the police, and when they got there, lloyd had a black eye, a broken nose, and several hematomas all over his back and arms. he was 15, and his sister was 5. in a lucky turn of events, their dad was sent to jail, and that was the tipping point for lloyd to decide that he was gonna take care of his mother and sister like his life depended on it. it also affected how he reacts to displays of violence against women/children, whenever he saw them he immediately tried to interrupt them, even if it was with complete strangers.
