Dark blond

Ragged, just barely not long. He keeps it out of his eyes, and then the second it starts to get in his vision, he chops it off again. There is no rhyme or reason or pattern to his cuts. He just cuts until it doesn't bother him anymore. To say it's ragged really is actually an understatement.

Same story as his hair. He keeps it as sort as he can but not clean-shaven, and doesn't care how patchy it is.

Yellow-brown. They used to be a lot darker, but after years of experimentation, they lightened. The scientists had no real explanation for this, just writing it off as a side effect. Now they're nearly fully yellow in bright light, fading back into a brown when light is low. His eyes are alert and watchful, but red, and very tired looking constantly.

Caucasian

He's got light, but very weathered skin.

He's stocky, and very solid. Dense, one might say. Easily gains muscle, easily keeps muscle.

Tattoos: A bird on his stomach that's, a wolf on his left shoulder blade with the words Jetzt Laufen (now run), and a skull with a sawblade in its teeth on his right shoulder with the word Fleischwolf (meat grinder).

Piercings: He used to have MANY piercings, but since his escape, he's only reinstated a few. He's got his bridge piercing, two helixes, and a tongue piercing. They are all a blue-ish steel, very simple, nothing extravagant. He also has the number 48 imbedded in the back of his wrist, along with the number 5691 underneath and a little smaller. These numbers are drilled into his bone, and are made of steel.

Scars: His skin is very weathered in general, with lots of bumps and bruises and scrapes and textures. He's got scars everywhere, but most are small, or very faded. The few notable scars are: A scar under his left eye where another eye had been forming, and a scar running straight through the Jetzt Laufen wolf (kinda fucking it up) where they had cut in to prevent and remove bone growth from his spine and scapula.

Basically non-verbal. He only vocalizes if its either
A) a quiet single word comment to himself (like a swear)
B) Yelling at some threat like a mountain lion.

Still, unnaturally still. Doesn't fidget, period. Part of that is his training in wilderness survival, part of that is sniper training. He never moves around.

Sleeps in short bursts, gets up, moves around for a few minutes, then goes back to sleep, usually in a new spot even if it's just a little left of where he was before. He sleeps very lightly.

He's largely nocturnal. He prefers to sleep during the day when it's hot, and functions at night, usually from about sundown to noon.

Migratory. He doesn't have a permanent home, he picks up everything and moves every single night. The only time he stays in place for more than a day is if he physically can't move, or if he's hunting and stocking up on food.

Survival, solitude. He just wants to never be seen by another human, ever ever again, and he wants to be out in nature until he dies, preferably from something caused by said nature. He'd be alright with being torn apart by wolves or a bear. He wouldn't enjoy it, but he would choose that death over one in a hospital ANY day of the week.
But above solitude comes survival. He will be social and friendly if it is the path that will ensure he lives. If he knows you long enough, he might even start to actually like you.

Weak to extreme stress and electric shock. These make his body go haywire as it tries to heal an injury that isn't actually there. If he were to get tased for example, he would probably start sprouting extra body parts as a panic response. Stress has a much longer-term negative impact, and effects his internal organs more than his external.

He's also entirely feral. He doesn't remember how to communicate with people, it's been too long since anyone's been friendly or treated him like a living thing. He will never seek help for anything bothering him, even if it's past his ability to control. If he can't fix the problem, then he just accepts it. Asking for help never crosses his mind at all.

In that same vein, he's terribly paranoid about showing weakness, and will NEVER EVER DO IT. You CANNOT care-take this man. He will fight you every step of the way. Is he sick? Doesn't matter, he'll take care of it himself. Emotionally struggling? Don't even LOOK at him, he'll jump down your throat. He reacts with anger a self-defense mechanism, since it's the only negative emotion he can show without accidentally sending his body into 'gotta fix it' mode. (This does NOT mean he is quick to anger. You gotta push him to his limits to get that)

He also has a strong aversion to anything medical (doctors, needles, hospitals, etc).

He baseline distrusts all humans, but especially doctors and intellectuals. He has a slight predisposition to trust military personnel, since he used to be one, but now even them he is wary of.

He's specifically trained in self-defense, wilderness survival and tracking, and marksmanship. He is the proverbial "never misses," largely because if he thinks he will miss, he doesn't shoot at all. He's versed in many martial arts, from Aikido to kick-boxing, to street fighting. He's a very calm person, rarely loses his cool unless he's entirely lost control of the situation. He knows he needs to keep his stress levels down. and so he's mastered the subtle art of not giving a fuck. Oddly neurotypical. Disturbingly so even. No one should be that…normal. Much less someone who has gone through everything he's gone through. He's able to heal on his own, faster than the average human, and can regenerate lost limbs, though very slowly, and it's not guaranteed that the limb will be 100% correct.

He's confident and likable as well, and integrates easily with various kinds of people. He's good at keeping a low-profile and just being that guy everyone sorta gets along with.

Man's ain't got time for hobbies, what are you, crazy? He loves hiking though, and good job he does, because that's what he spends 90% of his waking hours doing. He's a huge fan of exploring the wilderness, but also has enjoyed tussling, and shooting. Also good, since those used to also be part of his job.

Julian is a calm, emotionally aloof, yet outgoing and friendly individual who seems to hold no grudges or get angry about much of anything. He put effort into friendships, never raises his voice, never freaks out about anything, he's very level-headed, and generally content with life. He comes off as quite happy almost no matter the circumstance. Patient and tolerant at all times. Not because he’s actually that internally patient and tolerant (though the younger you are, the more genuine patience and tolerance he'll show you). He has a very advanced sense of survival, and he will not be getting into trouble, thank you very much. If he’s in a situation where someone is being rude, annoying, or otherwise untoward, and he thinks a fight with this person would go poorly, he will put up with a LOT. He tries to avoid fighting ever, adctually. Passive aggressive + sass + snark tho. Internally, if he doesn’t say it out loud. Really he just cares more about his own survival than anyone or anything else. This does not mean he doesn’t care about anyone or anything else. He will just not ever put anyone or anything else over his own life.

He really doesn't understand mental health at all, but he tries. “Do you want a hug?” he asks uncertainly as you cry. (He also doesn’t really know how to hug). His giving love languages are gift giving and acts of service, though until he knows for sure what someone likes, he won't get them any gifts (mild rejection sensitive dysphoria). But he'll just do things for you, because he can. Receives love through words of affirmation and acts of service. He's deeply philosophical, and he’s good to talk to when there are problems, he’s thoughtful and go-getting and will tell the truth bluntly. Refuses the bullshit. Won’t have it. He’ll press someone if they’re indulging in the bullshit.

His form of physical affection is through shoving. He likes being shoved. He'll just randomly shove his friends, with whatever body part is closest. Hand? Yep. Foot? Yep. Face? Why not. Big fan of headbutting people. The more he likes someone, the more this comes out, he gets very playful. Hip check? Shoulder check? Forever and always. "Hey I see you and I like you," that's what it all means. He likes it when people pretend to get angry and get in his face about it. It's a great way to make his smile stick around, and it's also a great way to get headbutted. However, he dislikes physical contact in it's longer form, like hugging, or snuggling, or even walking too close together. He has a personal space bubble, and he diligently maintains it except for those brief moments where he will lower it to wrassle a little bit. SOMETIMES he'll be in the right mood to cuddle. SOMETIMES.

All of this, and sometimes he'll just casually say or do something that reveals a little bit of the feral side, like, “Did you know you can make someone have a stroke if you twist their neck just right? Yeah…I know how to do it, too :)" or just casually admit that jar in the freezer is actually filled with home-made nerve gas, or something outlandishly absurd and horrifying like that. It slowly becomes clear to anyone who knows him for very long that his morals and sense of ethics are very, very not right. He will never show you anything but kindness and friendship, be your best friend, and then the first second he has to do something to preserve himself, he will even if it means killing you himself, no matter how close you once were. He may not want to, and he will not enjoy it, but that simply won't stop him.

More than just atheistic, Julian is full-blown anti-theistic. He actively sees all religion as stupid and a bad thing.

He didn't know what mountain lions were before he escaped the lab in America, and now that he's survived a couple of them, he thinks they've finally unseated Lynx as his favorite animal of all time.

Julian was born in Munich, Germany, and grew up in a Christian cult. His parents were unimportant cult members who were involved at a very limited level, so Julian never really got the full cult experience, but it was enough of his life that it left a lasting impact and turned him anti-theistic. He ran with a group of very rowdy kids in his early teens, and got into his fair share of trouble, but generally tried to keep his head down and gain the most benefit with the least harm from any given situation. He enlisted in the military at 18, training infantry/paratrooper with additional training in wilderness survival and tracking. Later he specialized further into firearms and sniping, and hand-to-hand/self-defense. When he hit 23, he was loaned to an American task force to aid with a rescue in the arctic of a mission-gone-wrong with several downed pilots and hostages. After the mission's success, he stayed on with the task force, signing a contract to work for the American military for a few years, but he never got the chance.

Instead he went MIA after his own mission-gone-wrong. When he woke up, he was in a lab somewhere, and he'd already been, in his eyes, mutilated, making him the 48th person to undergo experimentation out of the original 73. The experimentation left him with what the scientists at first thought were symptoms of all the other destined to fail experiments, but something was a little different about him. Where the other experiments went full on sideways, his regeneration never took over his body and turned him into a mess of extra limbs, eyes, and what not. The scientists, seeing that his condition was progressing much more slowly than the others, took him into intensive care and put him into a coma while they battled to get his regeneration under control. The coma reduced his stress levels and allowed them to get his regeneration not only under control, but more or less functioning correctly. When they woke him up, he went into an intensive recovery program that slowly tested his regeneration's limits until they were certain they understood the thresholds of his stress levels and what could possibly cause the regeneration to go haywire again. Julian is also very aware of these parameters, and while he is genuinely disgusted by what they did to him, and hates his 'powers' with all his heart, he also sees the usefulness, and understands the advantage it gives him over other people. As I mentioned earlier, Julian considered even the initial experimentation mutilation, and despises his body. But he'll still use it. And while he'll never be glad for it, he won't hesitate to take advantage of it in any way he can.

Though he tried to escape several times, he was never able to get far until a full-scale revolt occurred. He slipped away in the chaos and has been on the run ever since, relying on his old skills from the military to keep him safe and out of sight.
