Val was close with her father, Lorenzo, who was not a part of the syndicate and never intended to mix crime life with family life. He was a gentle person who preferred to lead a peaceful civilian life. The two had spent a lot of time together, especially since he had arranged hours from his work to become a stay at-home dad. However, a hit on his life from a rival gang would take him away from Val when she was 12 years old, leaving her numb inside until she could truly feel the grief from his absence.
Alfonzo -- Val's grandfather, as well as the boss of the Albertelli crime syndicate. They shared a close bond when Val was a kid, though as an adult, Val is more distant as she wishes to be seen as a member of the crime family and be considered a potential candidate as its head. She tends to be upset at the fact he won't, as she knows if she were born a grandson, the story would be different.
Val also has/had a good relationship with her mother, who is more like her in personality (intense, resolute, assertive--albeit more extroverted and feelings-oriented). (I'm still thinking on what became of her.)
・He's the only member of the higher cabinet who does not speak Italian, much to the annoyance of his grandfather since they end up having to speak in English for his sake.
・He's currently learning Italian for that and heritage purposes and then Spanish to communicate with the Latin population.
・She's not good at speaking Italian. AT. ALL.
