"she can transform into this specific dog (Border Collie, at least I tried to draw it), and with that, she gets dog's abilities (like smell, hearing, paws with claws, ect.). She can also “understand” dogs in this form, at the same level as experienced cynologists do. But she can also “sniff out” the information from them." - melok_

"Drawback is that she can't transform if her SKIN has ANY sort of damage. Papercut? Pimple scar? Bruise? Sorry, but you can't transform. However, it looks like old scars don't affect her ability (like earrings). HOWEVER, after a year in CA, she managed to trigger transformation with tiny injuries. But they usually take longer, like, additional 2-3 minutes.
So, yeah, it means she has to be very careful :D Oh, and if she gets injured while in the dog form...
She can't transform back, injury has to heal (try to explain a teacher that you didn't do your homework because "I have paws"" - melok_
