Ok so we're in for a long one, ahem;
As a kid he was born into a poor, working class family. His parents didn't exactly want him, but still loved him, his dad moreso than his own mom. He spent 5 years with them, and in that timeframe he proved to be the epitome of a problem child. Nothing they tried would ever calm him down or get him to focus his attention on something more productive, he loved destroying things and then building them back up again just to break it again. He was absolutely feral, and his parents couldn't afford more than to send him to the school counselor and hope for the best. He was the child that every parent dreaded having, too hyperactive for anyone to handle. Due to poor financial situations and his problems, his parents just couldn't keep him anymore, so regretfully he was put into the foster system. This was the start of his trust issues. As a kid he didn't understand that just being himself was such a problem, he couldn't help it. He begged his dad not to leave him but it was for the best, so eventually he was placed with a small family that had 2 other foster kids. This first family was an absolute disaster, the other kids hated him and were absolutely repulsed. He stayed in that home for 2 years and it was absolute hell, his siblings would lash out at him so he would lash even harder back at them. The parents did virtually nothing, way too laid back for this. But it was the final straw when he accidentally killed the family pet. At age 7 he was put back into the system, and at 8 he was put into a new home. Said home wasnt much better than the last, he was neglected in hopes of teaching him that he wouldn't get any attention from being a destructive child. This didn't work too well, and the entire family hated him. He only stayed there for 1 year, and was rehomed. At 9 he was starting to really realize why everyone hated him, afterwards he at least tried to be better. Keyword tried. Pretty soon his act fell through, and the new family he was with really made him feel unlovable. He really tried to be better for this new family, but the parents weren't satisfied. They'd prefer an emotionless statue as a son instead of him. So he then dropped the act again, causing him to be let go of at 11. Until he was 18 it was the same thing, he would be the worst he could be in hopes that these families would stop trying to be "the one to tame him." It was in his last rehoming that he met his 'brother', who was constantly ill and bedridden. Against all odds he was the first person who saw Shaun as, well, a person, not just a destructive animal. His brother really brought out the best in him. But eventually he turned 18 and had to leave, vowing to see his brother again one day. But for now he had to navigate the adult world, which meant a job and a place to stay. So that's what he did for 3 years, picking up a cat along the way, all until it came crashing down when the apocalypse happened.
His smile will kill millions at one glance.
