He was raised in an MTP base; where they mandate daily classes (Math, science, social studies, health, English, weapons training)

and they offer extra lessons which are only mandatory if you don't know how to do them, then they will only be mandated until you pass after a year. (Swimming, health, cooking, art, engineering, piloting, weapons combat)

He was found as a four-year-old in a vacated Apartment, with his newborn brother, who was taken to ICS (Infant Care System) until he was three. Gabe trained for three years, then Liam (who was three) met Gabe for the first time since he was two weeks old, Gabe remembers holding him when he was little. Gabe and his brother don't have a very good relationship.
