Born the daughter of [[Deity-19169]] and Paul Clemond, Tanila grew up under her father's watchful eye after being dumped on his doorstep as an infant.

Paul loved her as much as he loved any of the children he knew he had. Perhaps more so, as she was one of only a small handful he knew from their birth and the only one he ever had to raise alone.

In her teen years Tanila grew curious of her origins. Paul was human, or at least appeared to be so, while Tanila was clearly of some kind of elven or feyan heritage. Knowing she would find out eventually Paul told her the truth, and while Tanila wasn't mad she did want to know her mother. An unwise decision, and Paul advised her against it, but Tanila would not be dissuaded.

Paul never heard from her again. Attempting to ask her mother what happened was met with a runaround or worse anger that made even Paul afraid.

When [[Deity-19199]] came into power Tanila was freed from her mother's vault, and subsequently took off with [[Character-1095430]] as her protection so she could see how much of the world had changed while she had been imprisoned and try to figure out what to do with herself.
