Jaxon Ashvale
Jaxon is a Hebrew name that means God is gracious.
(I only gave him his name to fit his nickname, Jax. I had no reason during very early versions of the story.)

Jax is the main character, as we see the story from his point of view. He has a damning arc and the realization of things that hold him back. He also supports Gwen (the tritagonist) but opposes some of her decisions. Jax is also her mentor and love interest (potentially).
Greek
(Parents came from Greece, but he was born in the United States.)
196 pounds
88.9 kilograms
6 feet 2 inches
189 centimeters
Jax's hair is thick, coarse, and choppy with many sharp angles. His hair is a medium-length and wavy. It looks to be extremely healthy. He seems to take care of it well, even if he's in a depressive state. His hair gets in his face when damp with sweat or water. It annoys him, but he refuses to cut it any shorter.
Jax's hair is a deep jet back where it looks like a void at times.
Clean-shaven
Jax's eyes are a stark arctic blue with specks of dark blue. They're often cold, piercing through you, but they do soften once you get to know him. These blue eyes are his most striking feature.
Jax's face is a softer, oval shape with rounder cheek bones. His cheeks aren't exactly chubby, but not noticeable either. He has a normal jawline; however, his cheeks and eyes are slightly sunken from lack of sleep.
Jax has upturned, sharp eagle-like eyes. They make him appear cold and unforgiving. His eyebrows are also bushy.
He has a hooked nose that is curved at the bridge, but doesn't droop to a point at the end. The tip of his nose is softer, almost like a button nose. The bridge of his nose has a sharp kink in it from being broken when he was younger.
Jax has thin lips, with the bottom one being slightly bigger.
Jax's body has a more boxy shape to it compared to others. He's lightly muscled, but has a little bit of fat around his ribs. Jax is quite tall, but not lanky or bony. He's constantly training, which is putting a visible strain on his body.
He has a honeyed skin tone. It's slightly darker than a natural olive, but not as dark as a golden skin tone. He has cooler undertones to him, his skin taking on a duller look.
Jax has faint pinkish extending from over his left eyes down to over his mouth. Part of it extends onto his cheek, closer to his jaw.
He also has a long pink scar on his abdomen starting from his belly button to his side from being cut open. The cells were far too damaged by a demonic knife and were beyond repair. Their healer, Jules, couldn't heal it completely.
N/A
Jewelry: He has three silver helix piercings on his right ear. He also wears a handcrafted necklace with his brother’s class ring and a dead resin moth Val gave him.
Jacket: The bomber jacket he wears is thick black leather with strips of alternating stab and bulletproof material lining on the inside. It’s heavy and gets warm quickly. There is a patch with his name on the inside of the collar. On the back, Amity painted purple hibiscus flowers for him, and he textured it with purple embroidery thread.
Shirt: He wears a plain white t-shirt.
Gloves: To avoid calloused palms, he wears black fingerless gloves.
Belt: Jax wears a black leather belt with a scabbard for his sword. There are also loops to attach other weapons.
Pants: He wears comfortable black dark wear cargo pants.
Boots or shoes: He wears black tanker boots. They’re boots with buckled straps to help with compression.
Watch: Jax has a watch to alert guards, send out commands, or call for SOS. It also tracks his vitals and location.
Although he doesn't dress casually often, comfort is his top priority. He usually wears a snug black t-shirt with a light black and purple jacket over it. Typically, he sports a light black and purple jacket over a snug black t-shirt. He chooses to wear a leather belt and black pleated pants with it. Jax wears his tanker boots to complete the outfit.
Jax wears a basic pair of gray sweatpants and some random white tee.
He dresses for formal occasions in a black suit, cufflinks, and a purple dress shirt. Plus, he's got a great pair of black dress shoes.
Jax is a realist at heart. He is primarily concerned with offering potential recommendations that stay grounded in reality. He rejects theories that he feels are impractical given the limitations of reality, and he will challenge authority and play devil's advocate with other people's ideas. His entire strategy is determined by how realistic the plan is. Jax rarely daydreams, especially about the future; most fantasies are just shards of thought that might eventually turn into hope. He had lofty aspirations when he was younger, but he abandoned them following the traumatic experience that shaped his reserved demeanor.
Jax is often doubtful of his abilities because he fears he won't survive or be able to save loved ones. He says he will need to be better and that he will ruin everything. He worries he won't accomplish his objectives. Jax's brother, Dominic, continuously selects him as a mission leader several times.
As a humble person, he would never boast about his skills. His only input when asked, “How do you fight so well?” would be ‘years of tough training’. His modesty fits with his reserved, doubtful persona. Jax treats people with courtesy and respects their thoughts and emotions.
However, he will get sassy when in a brighter mood or exhausted by others' attitudes. It is seen as the fun side of his darker personality and is often him making jokes and playing around with the people near him. Jax can be seen as bold or confident with his sharp remarks and sarcastic attitude. It is a rare trait to see from him, but it can be drawn out when he’s comfortable around people.
The more admirable aspect of his character is his capacity to enjoy himself while working, or rather, take a break from it. He does enjoy his hobbies and uses them as a way to decompress. He occasionally exhibits moments of warmth and playfulness, acting mischievously with his friends. Jax loves a wonderful challenge, often challenging Val to darts or sparring.
Jax is flexible; he frequently settles into a routine when things change or makes plans to overcome obstacles. However, when it comes to significant life events, Jax is cautious of change.
He is just; he righteously punishes those who violate the law or injure others. Even with compelling reasons to breach the rules, he is a rule follower and won't break them.
After being diagnosed with PTSD two years after a tragic occurrence, Jax's condition grew worse. To shield himself from the drama, worry, inquiries, pressure, and offers of assistance, he emotionally distanced himself from everyone but Valerian and his brother. He perceives people straight and is direct in his interactions with them. He is not transparent about his feelings, which causes problems. Though it takes him some time to open up to others, Jax is improving. However, he does learn more about himself from other people. Though he is still emotionally aloof, he's gradually forming emotional bonds with individuals besides his brother and Valerian.
In keeping with his emotional distance, Jax is incredibly private and hardly ever expresses his honest emotions. His tone and face are generally neutral. His tone will change when annoyed but will lift when happy. He behaves as though he has a wall around him; therefore, he is unaffected by demons' manipulative techniques. Jax rarely offers his opinions in meetings until asked, but when necessary, he will play devil's advocate to work out already-decided ideas. When things get serious, he maintains perfect composure, but when his suppressed feelings come out, he may snap. Jax can support himself. He would want to handle his emotional baggage on his schedule rather than giving it to others.
He doesn't show his feelings to the world. Jax permits himself to have some alone time. In solitude, he releases his pent-up emotions. Most people cry or become angry when they are upset. When he loses it and cries, it contradicts his refusal to show his feelings. It doesn't matter who is around when it occurs. It happens when he is on a mission, or when he cannot have alone time.
To defeat Nathaniel and keep the balance of life (the balance between good and evil) from shattering
Primary motive: Keep the balance of life from shattering
Basic survival: To quote “Once they know you exist, they’ll hunt you” (They refer to creatures of Hell)
His main prejudice is against demons and hellhounds (Except Bane). He also doesn't like people who work with demons (Like warlocks). Also doesn't like the fae
To note, Bane Malice is the only hellhound he does not despise. Though the catch is, Jax doesn’t trust him until towards the end of the first arc.
Jax has a severe fear of fire
Jax fears losing people he is close to or loves. Losing his brother Dominic is the most overpowering part of this fear. Dominic is the last member of his family. Jax would feel responsible if something happened to Dom like he did with his parents' death
Jax fears falling asleep. He hates what he sees when he does. The thought of reliving painful moments is sickening to him. It’s already hard for him when he's awake
Even though it wasn’t Jax's fault, he blames himself for his parent's death. In reality, there was nothing he could have done. (He later realizes there was nothing he could have done and lets it go)
Jax has self-doubt about his ability to complete his goals and the fear of screwing up
Regret never telling Dominic he was sorry for his past hostility towards him (Dominic forgave Jax regardless)
He feels rainy nights are the best time to cuddle up with a warm blanket and read a book. He’ll usually have chamomile tea with him sitting on a nightstand. It's something he does during his needed alone time
When he can’t fall asleep, he’ll doodle in his notebook. Most of these doodles are to keep his mind and hopefully help him fall asleep despite his fears
Rainy nights also feed his quilting and sewing interests. Along with completing a puzzle
His job. It keeps his mind off things, generally
The night (moon and stars)
Tea
His mother's cooking/ Greek food
Mystery books and his notebook
Knives
Rain
Sewing clothes and quilting
Puzzles
Peace and quiet
Van Gogh's art
Purple hibiscus flowers
Fires (mostly medium- to large-sized ones)
Coffee
Many alcoholic drinks
Being constrained
Loud places
His brother taught him a nice amount of Latin. It comes in handy when reading old scriptures
His mother taught him Greek when he was little. Unfortunately, he lost the ability to speak the language well over time
He started training to fight at 13 years old. Because of this, he knows how to use a sword very well. He can also use a throwing knife well. He rarely misses the mark
His mother taught him how to sow
His weaknesses are anything that can mentally or physically harm, kill, and break a person
Jax has PTSD. He started showing PTSD symptoms around two years later after witnessing the burning of his family home. This house fire killed his parents and left him wounded, both mentally and physically. He was diagnosed at around 14-15 by the bureau’s medic, Julian Rowland. Jax had no initial reaction, but his brother became concerned. Please refer to his personality to read many of his emotional changes and other changes to his personality.
To note: His job is also stressful, adding to the fuel. He experiences death firsthand. The act of battles and war can put more strain on one's already broken mind.
He’s had many emotional changes, like emotional detachment. I’ve already written them with his personality. Other than emotional changes, many things accompanied his PTSD.
His nightmares are disturbing. They are very intense, often looping the same scene. They are overwhelmingly real and vivid. Jax describes it as “You try to wake up, but you can’t. Instead, you get to witness sadness, pain, and hell”. The sadness of this vivid imagery and looping events of his life he would rather forget had led to fear of sleep. It’s hard for him to fall asleep out of fear, even if he is exhausted. It results in a lack of sleep and not feeling well-rested. He still carries throughout his day despite this. During nightmare sequences, he’ll kick and thrash, sweat, breathe very heavily, have a racing pulse, and will eventually wake up in a cold sweat. He usually encounters these nightmares once a week.
He has panic attacks. Many of his panic attack symptoms come accompanied by flashbacks and maybe even with a simple thought of the event. These are called panic attacks. In reality, these attacks are different from those that endure a panic disorder. During one of these panic attacks, he’ll experience some physical sensations that are common with panic disorders. These sensations are heart palpitations, shortness of breath, and being overcome with intense fear.
He has flashbacks. Flashbacks are like nightmares, but you are very much awake. They can be sudden but become triggered by something or a reminder of the event. They're intense, and you feel like you're reliving the entire event. They are completely vivid. Flashbacks can last any amount of time, but they are usually 10 minutes long. It takes from 50 minutes to two hours to recover from these. Most sudden flashbacks occur when he is on his own, with no one to help console him. These flashbacks are paired with panic attack-like symptoms. Mainly, he's overcome with intense fear. They occur twice a month, suddenly.
Paranoia:
Avoidance of enormous crowds:
(He’s gotten better since his teen years, but he still suffers from these things, but not as frequently. He gets even better.)
Fire:
Sirens and possibly flashing lights from emergency vehicles:
The place he grew up:
Possibly intense heat:
smoke (Smell and sight):
Possibly the sound of crackling wood:
Clocks (After brother's death):
Jax doodles and writes in his notebook when he feels compromised (Ex: Paranoid, on coming panic attacks or after, in his alone time). It's in his first notebook full of emotional expression.
Excessive training is one way he keeps his mind. It led to him pushing himself too hard and past the limits. It also helps him exhaust his emotions, like anger
He sees Holly, the bureau’s therapist, but very rarely.
Even though this is not a treatment, Gwen helped him get better. She has helped him understand himself and properly heal.
Jaxon went to Charlottesville Waldorf School from kindergarten to sixth grade. After the deaths of his parents, his older brother pulled him from the school system. His brother taught him everything in need of education from the seventh to the twelfth grade. Dominic combined his school education with the education of the bureau and the unknown world he walked in.
Status: Dead
Cause of death: House fire from short circuit of faulty wiring
Vassilis (Normal) - Father
Maria (Clairvoyant) - Mother
Nothing...um...cool.
He has something called clairvoyance, or rarely the second sight.
Basically, like all Clairvoyants, he can see the supernatural, unlike "normal" humans. Most Clairvoyants think they are insane, have hallucinations, or have schizophrenia.
Oh, no matter how much he wanted to hold on to his dear brother, he couldn’t. Childhood memories flooded him. Part of his life had died that night, and so did his heart.

Daemonium-Angelus "Demon-Angel" is a religion with no god. Heaven is directed by a chosen leader and hell is ruled by the King of Hell. A lot of the basics are like Christianity (Like going to Heaven or Hell when you die), minus the Bible and its stories.
There was a deity named Mother. Mother faded after she created her two sons. Haiti, the first demon, and Ira, the first angel. Haiti made Hell and Ira made Heaven.
An important part of the story is that Haiti killed his brother, Ira. That is why Heaven is led by government and Hell is led like a monarchy. (I will link pages for it to make sense :3)
He works as an agent at the Blackwood bureau. The bureau keeps evil at bay and the balance of life from shattering
