Fern was born to one of the many trees inside the Adresin Forest long before The Starfall Arena was built nearby. She worked with the druid circles in the area and helped protect the forest.

However, the Arena sought expansion. To that end part of the forest was left corrupted, and Fern's tree died with it. Yet the hatred and spite left her alive, haunting part of the forest with other dryads in the same position as her. They were outcasts from those still with living trees who feared that they may get infected, and only had each other to rely on as they tried to continue to protect the forest through much more aggressive means than normal.

Fern has since learned, and left the forest. While being away might kill her to Fern that's preferable than continuing to live as she had been.
