Rosette was bornin Tavnoin and like many was sent to The Zenith to train with the monastic orders when she was a child. Before deciding which path to send her down the order asked questions and gave a general assessment, ultimately sending her on the Way of Mercy - learning to use her Ki to heal people, and harm others in defense of herself if need be.
This was because even at that age Rosette showed a willingness to help others. She wanted to make the world a better place, and was willing to make sacrifices to do it - including harm to herself. In fact Rosette was well known for standing up to bullies and such even if it meant getting into fights or getting hurt. And not just bullies, in her teens she stood up to the monastery as well - any teachers who were abusing their power, any policies that were unfair in any context, things like that. She spent her share of time in trouble and always maintained trying to change things for the better no matter what the consequences.
Eventually, however, there were no more challenges for her inside of the Zenith so Rosette set her sights on the world. She moved back to Tavnoin and became a medic in the Tavnoin Army for a time, helping out there with her healing powers while looking for a way to begin making her home town a better place.
Part of that was signing up for a volunteer project relating to the warforged. Essentially what she was told was that they wanted to see if magical powers and other things, including a monk's ki, could transfer into a warforged body and still be used by the person. The intention of this project was to help preserve the most powerful magic users, the powerful healers and people who helped the world, so that their knowledge and research would not be lost while still hopefully allowing them to use the powers they had inside their living bodies.
Helping with such an endeavor was something Rosette could not resist. She signed up at the first chance, and soon enough she found herself inside of a warforged body. One that had been built to look like her original human body as much as possible, and outside of a few small joints that show the obvious signs of being crafted it's almost impossible to tell she's not human.
Yet Rosette had been lied to. As soon as they realized she could use her ki in her warforged body they sent her back into the army. Now she could go more dangerous places to retrieve and help people, which was a bonus as far as she was concerned, but soon enough word reached her that the project's true intentions were to take the great minds of the time and imprison them in the warforged bodies so they could be controlled. They could be made to give up their secrets, forced to develop new and even more deadly magic or worse. For her part in helping the researchers realize this was possible Rosette felt awful, and she redoubled her efforts to infiltrate the city and try to change things.
Then she learned that the army was going to literally scrap her. She'd out lived her usefulness to them, and her constant challenge to authority was more of a pain than her healing powers were worth. So Rosette escaped with the help of the local thieves guild, people she had become well acquainted with during her time because they had the same goal she did. Rosette hid out with them for a good long while, helping mostly run the hideouts and such, and when the leader eventually passed he made sure that she succeeded him. Her passion was unmatched, and even when she couldn't directly be part of missions for risk of being discovered she always had fantastic advice to give and had helped the guild out more than anyone could have imagined.
Eventually Rosette came to be head of the organization, as she was functionally immortal so long as there was someone to repair her. Her rage fueled her for the long haul; planning carefully, each mission put under the microscope to make sure it was worth doing before sending people out for it. She had to be more careful than ever, and more than that remind herself that it could take years to get even an inch forward in their plans but one slip up could cost them everything.
When The Sovereign Galen was being defeated in 1450 Rosette committed herself and the guild to the cause; the time for being cautious was over, a group of blood hunters working for some adventurers had started an all out war with the Sovereign Galen. Too many in the guild didn't have her patience and were too eager to get involved, and sending them out without the guild's backing would probably mean losing them forever so it was time to rush in to help the fight.
For her part Rosette was actually captured and dismantled to keep her from revealing the secrets she had found on how to defeat the Sovereign Galen. While the adventurers recovered her body, she was never properly put back together before the fight was over.
In the aftermath as the adventurer Zaela took up the Sovereign's mantle she was able to get in touch with Rosette's consciousness left inside the destroyed body. Though her fight was over Rosette didn't want to die, so Zaela outfitted her with a new warforged body and let her go back to the thieves guild as their leader.
This had several advantages, including keeping the members from causing more chaos as they fought amongst themselves to fill her position. Rosette put her foot down on a lot, redirecting the guild to help those that had been harmed under the Sovereign Galen's rule and assist the Sovereign Zaela in any way she needed. That's been the guild's position going forward, acting to keep an eye on anything that could be trouble and dealing with it before it becomes a problem so that the Sovereign Zaela doesn't have to worry about it.
